Attention all breakfast lovers! Flying Biscuit Cafe just launched a mouthwatering new menu featuring two must-try dishes: Churro French Toast and Steak Chilaquiles.
Imagine thick slices of bread dipped in a cinnamon sugar batter, grilled to crispy perfection, then drizzled with warm chocolate sauce and topped with fresh, sliced bananas – that's the sweet symphony of their Churro French Toast. Craving something savory? The Steak Chilaquiles will tantalize your taste buds! Picture thick, homemade tortilla chips simmered in salsa verde, overflowing with melty queso, then topped with tender marinated steak, sunny-side up eggs, and a symphony of fresh flavors like white cheddar cheese, avocado, and cilantro.
Of course, Flying Biscuit Cafe is still a haven for classic Southern breakfast comfort food. Their legendary buttermilk chicken tenders are even better when ordered extra hot. Don't forget their creamy mac and cheese, spicy vegan collard greens, the hearty Piedmont Omelet, and the delightful Mini Shrimp & Grits.
Bonus tip: Select locations, like the Sandy Springs and Toco Hills locations offer adult beverages, including mimosa flights, for those who want to elevate their brunch experience.
Flying Biscuit Cafe truly caters to all cravings, with breakfast and lunch available all day long. So, whether you're an early bird or a late riser, there's always a delicious reason to visit!
I just had the most amazing experience at Flying Biscuit Cafe in Toco Hills, and I'm already planning my next visit. Their menu is packed with classic Southern comfort food, but they also have some exciting new additions.
The star of the show for me was definitely the April Spring Chicken Scramble! This limited-time dish features egg whites scrambled with grilled chicken, cheddar cheese, mushrooms, spinach, peppers, and onions, all topped with a homemade tomato coulis. It's the perfect balance of protein, veggies, and flavor – a must-try!
But of course, I had to indulge in some Flying Biscuit favorites too. I treated myself to a Mimosa Flight (because, brunch!), Pancake Tacos (seriously delicious!), Creamy Dreamy Grits (sooooo good!), the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich (with just the right amount of spice!), the Fried Green Tomato Sandwich (a Southern classic), Hangover Hash (perfect for those mornings you need a pick-me-up), and their ever-so-delicious Grilled...

The wait was a tad longer than we were told which is interesting since there were 7 empty tables when we were seated.
Let me preface the rest of this review with that our waitress was very nice and I’m guessing she was just having a bad day. Or maybe it was her first day? Anyway, after she took our order, she almost immediately brought us out some free biscuits for our wait. We thought it was a little odd since we had just ordered so had not been waiting for our food but nonetheless, we enjoyed the biscuits which were easily the best part of our visit.
About 15 minutes later, our waitress walked by and dropped the check at our table... hmm. Maybe she was just preemptively dropping the check to speed things up for us however we didn’t see her for another 15 minutes so couldn’t inquire. When she finally came by again, she asked if there was anything we needed and we said, “our food” to which she gave us the most confused face ever. We explained that we never received our food so she left us to check on it... The whole exchange was actually quite humorous but if I had been a tad bit hungrier, I wouldn’t have been laughing.
Fast forward another 15 minutes and we finally received our food!!! (45 minutes after we were sat if you weren’t keeping count)
I ordered the “Rich Girl” which was supposed to be a salmon eggs Benedict. Instead, the “salmon” was a very few, small, cubes of salmon (see photo). The salmon was possibly processed because how and why would you make cubes from actual fresh salmon??
One last annoyance was that there were a few “manager” types but I don’t recall any of them ever asking how our food or experience was. Seems very odd considering this place just opened and typically that’s when a restaurant is at its best so I have zero faith that the service will get better in the future.
Overall, a pretty terrible experience and will definitely...
Read moreThis is not the first time I've been to a Flying Biscuit by any means, but the first time I've been to the fairly new one at Toco Hill. First, the negative side is minor, hence the 4 stars for atmosphere: it was very loud, and the interior architecture contributes to that; I'm not sure how sound abatement could be achieved easily. With the sound level, it also felt more crowded unless casual than either the original Candler Park location, where I have dined on and off over the years, or the Midtown location which is more in between Candler Park and Toco Hill in character and atmosphere. However, some people may prefer the buzzier and busier atmosphere of the Flying Biscuit at Toco Hill. On the other hand, The positives essentially outweighed that one negative for me: The service was excellent ("Jasmine," says my receipt) and the food itself very well prepared and presented, much better I would say than recent years at the Candler Park location, though it is difficult to beat the original Candler Park Flying Biscuit, before it was bought and corporatized. I had the bacon and eggs breakfast: 2 eggs scrambled, grits, the infamous biscuit, and the greatest of rarity's for restaurants these days: crispy bacon that actually came out crispy as requested! The eggs were not overcooked or hard, but rather a soft near-omelette-like, evenly cooked presentation without burn spots; nicely prepared. The bacon and eggs were well complimented grits and biscuit, the latter with a side of their signature cranberry-apple butter. The black decaf coffee was quite good so I had three cups, the cups not being particularly large; certainly not compared to my preferred coffee mug at home. But that's okay too, because the server was attentive and kept it replenished. I dined solo, as is typical for me. My overall combined...
