This place was horrible. I haven't been to an IHOP in years so when we had appointments in Boston, we decided to travel around a bit and found this one. It wasn't busy at all with only maybe 7-8 booths taken at the time. We waited to be seated. We waited for our server. When she did come, we told her we weren't ready to order since we needed to look at the menu. Even after we were ready, it took a while for her to come back to us. When she came back over, she asked if we were all set to order and we said yes, but she replied with she would be back again as she walked away and proceeded to go get another table's food. She came back and we finally ordered.
It took a little bit to get our food. We ordered a sampler as an appetizer. No small plates to part food on and she forgot the honey mustard. We reminder her. Still nothing. We ate some onion rings and mozzarella sticks until we assumed the honey mustard would come. Our main plates finally came and still had to ask for the honey mustard again. The food wasn't that great. My Fiancè ordered the bacon omelet without tomatoes. There was hardly any bacon in it and nothing on top like there should be. My meal, the split decision, was okay, but the french toast was very dry.
We didn't hear from the waitress again until we were done when she asked if we wanted refills of our drinks. That would have been nice about 15 minutes ago. When we got our checks, it came up to $42.33. Since the service wasn't good at all, we opted to not leave a tip for her. Usually, we are very good tippers. Even though we made it perfectly clear on the receipts NO TIP, we checked our card account later and found that Server 916 (Nancy G) took it upon herself to charge in a $10 tip!!!!! We tried to contact the restaurant several times with no answer. When we did get ahold of a manager, he took my number down and said he would call me back because he "couldn't hear me." Still nothing.
Guests beware and watch your accounts if you use cards!!! Thieves work there! Now, I will be contacting my card bank to get...
Read moreMy husband and I visited this IHOP as a stopover to another appointment. There was a waiting line though the wait promised to be only about 10 - 15 minutes. Only recently discharged from the hospital following surgery, my husband had a walker and was unable to stand for any amount of time. After being told that we had to wait outside before being called when our table was ready, I commented that the outdoor benches were all taken and my husband needed to sit. The host complied by placing a chair just inside the outer doors, for him to sit. The wait was short. We ordered from an over-anxious waitress, after perusing the menu, and deciding on our order, the fourth time she came around. The potato pancakes I ordered were a bit too well done, but being a lover of potato pancakes, I ate them any way. I ordered extra sour cream and was told there would be an additional charge of one dollar, to which I acquiesced. One can never nave too much sour cream! I had also ordered the Swedish crepes with lingonberry. Somehow, my request for extra sour cream turned into a request for additional lingonberries, also at one dollar extra. I did not demur. I enjoyed everything. The waitress did not return after bring us our meal, to check on us, which was off-putting. I was thirsty and wishing for water. Finally, I got up and tracked her down, asking for water, though, annoyingly, at that point, it was time for us to leave. She ended up redeeming herself by providing us with 2 iced waters in to-go cups with straws. I would go back. I HOP is IHOP, and this one is conveniently located right off...
Read moreThe fact that I have to select 1 star irks me. I've been to ihop 3 times in the past 7 or 10 yrs. I never go to ihop because I usually go to a privately owned diner where I get treated like family and the food is excellent. Unfortunately the owner retired and decided to close the diner and this is where the nightmare begins. While on the hunt of looking for another privately owned breakfast spot I had to settle for ihop. Every experience has been a negative one. The first time I went with a friend and I ordered scrambled eggs and the shredded potato hash browns. How do u mess up eggs and shredded potatoes? The potatoes were burned on the outside and raw underneath and the eggs were meh. The bill was like $30 for 2 people. I didn't touch any of the food because the potatoes turned me off and I spoke to the manager and told him I wasn't going to pay. He obviously didn't want to argue with me and saw that my friend and I didn't even touch our food and we left. 2nd experience at this dreadful place was a little better but still mediocre so I paid. 3rd time was the charmer for me. I ordered a BLT which btw an infant can make. How do you mess up a BLT?!! The bacon or lack there of was burned. The fries were not even fully cooked. I was so appalled that I was served this sad excuse for a sandwich that I broke it apart got up and left without saying anything to anyone. Like you serve me that crap and expect me to pay? What is the world coming too?!! I will never go to a ihop again in my life. I'm going to support privately owned businesses who actually care about...
