BUYER BEWARE: UNFAIR & DECEPTIVE ADVERTISING/PXING..does the DBPR know????..They advertise prices on items but Charge MORE!!!! I went to the store and they had posted prices on items; however, when I reviewed my receipt I was charged more than the advertised/posted prices. I brought the receipt back in and asked the clerk why I was charged more....she said that it was an upcharge because I paid with a Credit Card..???I said where is that posted? Neither her nor another elderly clerk could find the "posting" but showed there was a sign, hidden behind a monitor that states if you pay by card - Prices are higher. The clerk said it was not Pop's fault but the CC Processing Company's fault. I said "NO WAY" - Pop's is simply passing on their cost of doing business to the Consumer - if peeps agree with that - fine, BUT they defraud the Public by not being easily transparent about higher Pricing - even Gas Stations give you the blatant Option of Credit vs Cash Price. Why doesn't Pop's say "Steamers $10.99/lb CASH PRICE"? No - because they want to be as dubious as possible - Thats what I don't like. I even told the clerk that upon seeing me pay with a card she didn't mention, I could pay with cash and get a better price - she said it says it on her screen...whatever - like any consumer can see "her screen" - didn't give me a Choice - NOT TO MENTION - being in banking, I am aware of average CC transaction costs and it appears to me - IMO - POP's is even charging the Customer MORE for the item then they are being assessed by the CC Transaction Companies - Would I have bought the items at the Higher cost? Yes - I just do NOT appreciate being taken advantage of...Now, I will try SEAFOOD WORLD - and give them my $100 instead of being deceptively forced...
Read moreAs a local Google Guide, I would like to share my review of Pop's Fish Market, the go-to place for fresh catch seafood.
Being someone who doesn't own a boat and has no desire to have one, I rely on places like Pop's Fish Market to satisfy my love for fresh fish. The market never disappoints with its wide selection of seafood and excellent service.
The staff at Pop's Fish Market are always friendly and welcoming, creating a pleasant atmosphere for customers. Additionally, their pricing is reasonable, making it accessible for seafood lovers on any budget.
The standout feature of Pop's Fish Market is undoubtedly the freshness of their catch. Whether it's shrimp, salmon, or any other type of fish, you can trust that it will be incredibly fresh. This freshness translates into delicious flavors that truly elevate any meal.
One of my favorite ways to enjoy the seafood from Pop's Fish Market is by grilling it. Whenever I have dinner guests, they are always delighted when I serve them grilled fish from this market. The quality and taste never fail to impress.
If you find yourself in the mood for some freshly caught fish, I highly recommend heading to Pop's Fish Market. Their commitment to quality, friendly service, reasonable prices, and exceptionally fresh seafood make it the perfect destination for seafood enthusiasts...
Read moreMARKET. NOT A RESTAURANT. But you can get food ready to eat here such as fried baskets and have your crab or lobster pre-cooked.
Note: If you do decide to eat here, there is one table, no bathroom, and you'll be fiddling with plastic utensils. But what this place lacks in restaurant atmosphere, it makes up for with amazing fresh Fish N Chips. Just consider getting your order to go as the one table is usually occupied and as dingy as a bus seat.
With that downer said, they HAVE LIONFISH & HOGFISH. These are rarities on the menu anywhere for seafood. Of course they also have mainstays such as Oysters, Shrimp, Scallops, Grouper & Snapper.
Their selection includes fish native to Florida and elsewhere, so if you're looking for Pacific Oysters or Maine Lobster, you will find it here. Fish is kept on ice, is moist and not dried out, it doesn't smell 'fishy' and hasn't been sitting for ages from the samples I purchased.
If you've been to Pike's Place Fish Market in Seattle, this place reminds me of it, like the little step-child brother in Florida. No, they don't toss fish and shout at you for your camera blog entertainment, but you can be assured their advertised "Catch of the Day" is...
