Plateful Chinese Buffet — Restaurant in DeFuniak Springs

The food is so good but sadly my last Time ordering at this establishment I went through utter heck. The person that took my order was very slow I could tell he was from the kitchen and with someone I had never dealt with before. I used to come into this place on a weekly basis because I loved it more than the other options and wanted it to stick around. This person who I assume was from the back took my order and I could tell he did not know what he was doing. We were super patient waited till he was done and left a $5 tip for a to go order. After he finally figured out how to take the order and cashes out he slammed his hands on the counter and screamed something in his language. I didn't let this phase me I've worked in restaurants for a long time and I know that sometimes things can be stressful. We continue to leave a $5 tip because like I said before I love this place. Our food ended up coming out and It's the item below the item that we originally ordered on their menu. I laughed a little because of what we had already gone through and said please can you correct this to the woman that brought it out she automatically understood what it was that we wanted and fixed it. As I was waiting for our fixed order the man that originally took our order came stomping out from the back And started screaming at me telling me that I ordered the original thing that they brought out. I kept my cool and told him no I ordered the garlic chicken not the sessoine beef. He got super upset and left the other waitresses snickered and the older woman who is seating people apologized. I sat there humiliated as people were looking at me and whispering about what just happen I have social anxiety so a lot of that my mind probably made up. I started crying and had to leave the restaurant and had my boyfriend stay and wait for our food to come out. Someone else apologize to him but now I feel like I never want to step foot in the establishment again. I probly will in a few months but I truly hope that he was told he could never come and deal a customer again. The entire thing was uncalled for from his outburst after cashing us out to his outburst after finding out he did something wrong and didn't understand us. It wasn't fully his fault there was a language Barrier and one of the waitresses that seen him struggling that came up and looked him in the eye as he asked questions could have stepped in and helped. I'll be taking my business back to the other local Chinese place until I feel comfortable in this establishment again. I feel like this review should get a one star but because the food is so good and all my other experiences were so good the I don't want that to ruin anybody else's opinion...

I go on a regular basis. They know me there. Lets Start on the Outside and work our way in. PARKING: Kinda Sucks depending on Time you get there. No place to park and is tight. Also, Stupid People Parking in places where there is No Parking to begin with or over the lines or or or... Parking Lot is Dirty and has trash most times, specially near the back. Still have a Old Buffet Table out there for the past 15years. INTERIOR: Clean and Kept for the most part. Some Unlevel Tables, Duct-tapped Seats. Lighting Okay. TV's Not Framed Right but don't watch anyway. Music? Don't pay attention, so? STAFF: Nice People. They get to know you. Have even forgot my wallet and have let me pay next time or let me eat free a few times. Bring me Two Glasses of what I drink to save time and more as I need it because they know I Drink A Lot. BATHROOMS: Clean and Kept FOOD: Here I have and Don't have Problems. Fried Chicken Wings can be Great Sometimes but DRY and No Flavor others. From Reheating mostly. Also can be Super Small or Nice and Large. Better if you put the Steak and Onion Juice on them but even that can be Flavorless at times. Depends on when they brought it out. Salad Good. Seafood could NOT Careless about and have Most of on Sundays Buffet. Not sure about Fri or Sat. Everything else can be Hit or Miss during the rest of the week. SUNDAYS: Mostly Seafood I WILL NOT Eat!. Pork Ribs that without the sauce are FLAVORLESS but I only eat for the Bones I give to my dog. I get the Cook to cook me 6-8 Steaks that are Half Fat sometime but also give that to my dog. Riblets? those Little Red Meat things with bones and Gristle that I give to my dog, are too sweet sometimes but still good. No Mixed Vegetables so just get the Broccoli and Onions from their main Sources. Lo Mein can be hit or miss but add other stuff to it and use it as a filler. Fried Rice is Fried Rice and added to stuff.. White Noodles is also filler. Egg Drop Soup and Fried Rice is Good! Over all they are Good and are now the Only Real Buffet like it in this town, Not Including Pizza Hut! You can eat American there depending on what you pick or even have them cook it at the Kitchenette. I will continue to go there. And if they sit me off to the left as you enter, I will continue to clear my own table that they appreciate Soo Much, specially when busy. Even still give...

Let me start out by saying I used to love this place. My last time dining here has completely ruined it for me and my family. While eating, my son bit into a piece of sweet and sour chicken and it was dangerously undercooked. No problem, I notified the staff and was very respectful. Before my family finished eating and before I ever received the check, I went ahead and paid with my card and my wife left a cash tip on the table. Our waitress came up to the counter while I was paying and looked at the receipt and seen that I didn't add a tip. I thought that it was strange that she would do that. I then sat back down while my family finished eating. The waitress then came over and shoved an empty check holder in front of me at the table and said "Here" in an agitated tone. She walked by several times staring at us and made it very obvious that we were no longer welcome. Whenever the kids were done eating, we all stood up to leave; at this time she walked over to our table and picked up the empty check holder, opened it up, and then threw on the table. This is where I had enough. I told my wife to grab the cash she had laid down and I went to the front and said what needed to be said about our experience. I told them that losing our business wouldn't hurt them one bit, but to be treated like sht by a fking waitress because she didn't know we left a CASH tip was fked up. She needs to be more respectful of people's personal space and look on the f*king...
