Starbucks Coffee Company — Restaurant in DeKalb Township

I visited this location on 8.20.25 and ordered the White Chocolate Mocha with almond milk, no whip, hot. (Forgive me for not leaving a review sooner.)

Anyway, the drink was perfect, and service was great! The young lady at the window, with the shorter hair, with blondish streaks / highlights, and bright white teeth and beautiful smile…

her Energy and service was great. I didn’t get her name, but I wanted to give her a shoutout for her amazing service and great Energy. Thank you.

Also, I appreciate the hot drink NOT tasting like the film of the cup. Whenever I’m in town, this is the ONLY Starbucks I visit.

My drinks from here always taste like they’ve always had, (before many Starbucks locations started using cheaper cup providers, or the cup providers started using cheaper materials, or whatever is causing hot drinks from many Starbucks locations, to taste like the “film” that “coats” the inside of the cups.)

Whoever is your cup provider, at this location, please keep using them, especially for the hot drinks.

Anyway, thank you, to the young lady at the window for great service, and this location, for maintaining the “original tastes” of the only drinks I can get from Starbucks, due to my stomach sensitivities.

If you order using the app, give yourself about 5-10 extra minutes before you get your drink beyond what they say the timing is on it. I get the feeling that this location doesn't have much experience with app orders; any other Starbucks I go, I always get my order right around the time that the app says it's ready.

Also, check your order if you do make it through the app. I've gotten whipped cream when I specifically asked not to have whipped cream (it makes me VERY sick).

The staff here are really good about making things right if they should go wrong, and if you order in house (highly recommended), it is without error. Expect long wait times during peak times and weekends, and during exam times. This is one of the few places that has WiFi around here.

The atmosphere is calm and relaxed. I don't bring my laptop here, often just read one of the papers on hand or something on my phone, but it's a good place to just take a breather and enjoy your...

I previously left a positive review for Starbucks, but recent visits haven't been a good experience for me. They've messed up my order on several occasions, including leaving out additions that cost extra. I've let it slide because I am fond of several of the baristas who work at the location, but today's visit was the end of my graces. I ordered a simple drink with whipped cream, but upon receiving the drink there was no whipped cream. I asked the barista (I haven't seen her here too much) to add some and she looked very annoyed. She did it, but when I said thanks so much and have a nice day, she completely ignored me and started speaking to the next customer. I understand she may have been having a bad day, but it was very saddening to experience this when I previously loved it here.
