Subway — Restaurant in DeKalb Township

I had a very disappointing experience at this Subway location. While the owner is polite, I found the customer service from one of the staff members, Anu, to be extremely unprofessional. I was surprised to be charged extra for a small amount of sub crunch, and when I asked for clarification, her response was dismissive and rushed.

Additionally, I observed a concerning lapse in hygiene. After using the hand-washing sink, she handled vegetables without properly washing or sanitizing her hands. This raises serious food-safety concerns for anyone dining here.

Due to these issues—poor customer service, unexpected charges, and hygiene concerns—I do not recommend visiting this location. I ultimately chose not to take the sandwich I ordered.

I hope the management takes this feedback seriously to improve training, cleanliness, and customer care...

I would rate this subway in minus. And the owner of this subway he is a nice man but his wife Anu is so rude and disrespectful with the customers. She wants me to pay for a little extra sub crunch. Also that lady wants me to rush and was very rude. She was touching the veggies after cleaning the hand sink that is opposite side of the serving table we can clearly see that… she didn’t even washed her hands properly this is how she serves the food. Guys never ever go to this subway they serve very disgusting food you have to look through it then you can clearly see that… And note to Anu… the sandwich which I left over you can build a house with that… and with that extra money for sub crunch save your house.. Don’t ever go...

We ordered catering from this Subway for the NIU band competition, and the manager was in contact with me from the first time I created the order up until I picked it up. The manager was amazing, has excellent communication and customer service. He packed and labeled everything perfectly, which made my job of feeding 130 marching band members and staff easy!

On top of it all, the marching band members expressed that they were the best Subway sandwiches they have had. I had one kid stop after he took a bite, and I asked if he was okay - he replied, "These are SO GOOD!" Thank you so much for making this an excellent catering experience.
