Here on a girls trip from PA and was so looking forward to dinner here, however, turned out to be such terrible service from NONI our server this evening! We arrived at 7:53 had to wait at door for them to clear a table (not knowing could only get AYCE choices until 8PM) was finally seated at 8:09PM and NONI had to make what appeared to be an executive decision whether or not we were eligible for AYCE!! It went down hill from there…as a server she failed to advise us that our 2-1/2 clusters of Snow Crab legs would be smothered in Spicy Old BAY Seasoning which could not even be removed with a fork. I ordered Red Roasted Potatoes and when I got my food there were 4 little potatoes in a bowl that were steamed not roasted. Very dry no seasonings so I asked NONI if I could please have butter she basically told me no and there was a cup of butter with my crab legs which I explained the butter I was requesting was for my bowl of dry red potatoes and she still said no that they don’t have butter ummmm she then said the butter is a big brick so she couldn’t give me any for my potatoes!!! Tried to make the best of the situation but she disappointed us in every aspect. Was a little social butterfly while on the floor instead of tending to her customers and their needs focused on a table which I’m assuming she knew the customer. Had to ask other servers for extra butter (which unfortunately they failed to bring also) had to ask several times for another soda/water etc. Had to stop her in her travels for our check and she went by so fast was unable to request separate checks. She brought CHECK was advised would be separate check(s) and she had that screwed up also then said that it didn’t matter they had same food on them except for appetizers which one was 7$ and other was 14$ ahhh that is a 7$ difference! Point of this rant is when in customer service maybe do just that satisfy ALL your tables/customers! Scott the manager took over when we requested a manager and he did correct bill(s) but geez after this ordeal ya think he would have removed one appetizer if not both! Sorry but We will not ever be returning here and we are frequent vacationers here as well as family! Have a good night!! Very...
Read moreI recently dined at a crab house in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, and I must say that my experience was nothing short of disappointing. From the moment I walked in, it was clear that both the food and service were far from satisfactory.
Firstly, the food itself was a letdown. I ordered 12 crabs, expecting a flavorful and well-seasoned delicacy. Unfortunately, what arrived on my plate was bland, mushy and lacked any discernible taste. The crab meat seemed dull and lacked freshness, leaving me questioning the quality of the crabs. It was undoubtedly some sort of the worst crabs I have ever had. It was $130 for a dozen crabs!
Moreover, the service at this crab house was abysmal. The staff seemed disinterested and inattentive to the needs of the customers. Despite the restaurant not being particularly busy, I had to wait an unreasonable amount of time for both my order to be taken and my food to arrive. The servers were inattentive, neglecting to check on tables or refill glasses. Their lack of professionalism and indifference left a sour taste in my mouth, figuratively and literally.
Furthermore, the overall ambiance of the restaurant was decent but it was dead as far as business. The interior felt dated and worn, lacking any charm or warmth. The seating arrangements were uncomfortable, and the noise level was excessive, making it difficult to hold a conversation. It certainly did not create an inviting or enjoyable dining atmosphere.
Given the underwhelming quality of the food, the subpar service, and the uninspiring ambiance, I cannot recommend this crab house to anyone seeking a delightful seafood dining experience. There are undoubtedly better options available in Rehoboth Beach, and I encourage visitors to explore...

After rebranding from a crab house to a sports bar and grill, Bushels was and is still my favorite place for good crabs and a personal recommendation for staying off the mainstream line for them! Their all you can eat feasts have only grown to now include crawfish! While the appetisers are pricier than I would expect for bar and grill service the main entrees will entice anyone from cheesesteaks to decadent pastas. While I miss their crab house vibes I'm interested to see them expand into this new design.
I've wanted to re-review this location for a while being a personal fan of the Zoggs group and their other locations in Lewes and Rehoboth. My review has been updated but still includes last year's commentary below.
Previous Review: Casual restaurant/crab shack. Went with a group of 5 and sat outside as music inside was louder than expected. Was not crowded. Menu entree's were limited and majority came a la carte. Service was slow but the staff were pleasant. Among our entrees the fried shrimp dish did not meet personal quality expectation, cocktail sauce was solidified, chicken was overcooked and tasted like fish for the caeser salad. All you can eat crabs were cooked well and maintained the medium size as advertised. Due to there being a few crab shacks in Rehoboth and this restaurant being a member the Zogg's family (a company I that respect) I personally expected better from...
