$-$$. Recommended for families with kids or those looking for a quick bite of traditional pizza. An old staple of Rehoboth (now in Lewes) with a boardwalk aesthetic and vibe. Nicola Pizza offers a variety of traditional entrees but in my opinion excels more in their quick pizza and Boli's. While they do have a take out window, when dining in expect food to come out individually and not all at the same time. With the amount of families visiting the inside seating area can get pretty loud. As a result I would recommend sitting outside (weather permitting) if you're not a fan of loud noises. Additionally when ordering a Boli they come out very hot! For my spicy fans out there, the Red Devil sauce was reminiscent to me of Franks red hot. When looking at their style in the great pizza race, Nicolas excels in their soft but yet not too soft crust and their house made sauce is a old time staple that's a little sweet. Recommendation to Business, to remain competitive can we get additional pizza and Bolis combinations on the menu? Like a cheesteak Boli? Additionally, I was surprised when my party was served pizza and bolis on tin foil and a paper plate. Due to the heat of the bolis in particular it was difficult to pick up and eat and unfortunately required the use of a fork and knife. The Boli came apart into a mess and I had to remove the foil due to a risk of eating it as I cut into the Boli. Can we get regular plates with no tinfoil?

ahhh, nicolas. i absolutely love this place, but my most recent experience made me write this review. arriving to this establishment i was excited and ready. but not as excited as my father is. he loves this place. my sissy takes a picture of my father infront of the establishment. cinematic. we walk in and get a seat instantly, great! we sit down and we order our drinks snd appetizers. i ate those mozzarella sticks up! we order pizza and alex and my father get nic-a-bolis. out food arrives and we get ready to eat. i look over at my dad, silent and eating. i spot a single tear rolling down his eye. he must really like the food. i’m eating the pizza, it’s good. i see the waiter approaching, she must be asking if we need anything. the exact moment the waiter arrives, my mom spills her diet dr kelp. i watch the waiters face go from 😄 to 😨. in this sudden situation, my dad decides that he needs a refill. my mother, covered is soda, asked the waiter for a refill. me and sissy lose it. alex try’s to hold in his laugh. it looks like my mother pissed herself. we pay and escort my mom out. i love this place. very good.

Our first time eating at the "new" Nicola's on route 1 in Lewes but we are long time Nic-o-boli fans! The building is big and beautiful with plenty of space and seemingly no wait time with many nostalgic mementos of the old original pizzeria! (Pat was our favorite waitress for many years!) The boli was as delicious as ever, mine with double beef but more sauce should be added as well and when I asked for a side of sauce, it was a $1 upcharge! 🥺 Our waitress was a bit on the dry side and we were seated by the bathroom! 😮‍💨 I also suggest that they buck tradition and serve them minus the traditional foil wrap since it comes on a stoneware plate anyway! 🤷🏼‍♂️ A plus was the free drink refills which we took to go since we were heading to the Cape May-Lewes Ferry! 🥤🛳️ Overall I probably will go back and recommend it as well but first time out I was just short of disappointed! 😮‍💨

I am not one to complain about restaurants but needed to share our experience. We are from out of state and were looking for somewhere to dine out while on vacation. The staff were not personable or very friendly. Most restaurants that I go to the waitress introduces themselves and usually tries to ask how you are doing or if you are new to that place. I have no idea what our waitress name was. When we walked in a lady asked us how many, never said hello. She seated us and then disappeared. Another lady came by about 10 min later who worked there and ended up serving us. She asked if we had been helped and we said no. She asked us what we would like to drink and then walked away. She came back with our drinks, no straws. We had to keep trying to get her attention for things. She came back and took our order and then disappeared again. A young man brought part of our order but never mentioned my husband’s sandwich. We realized after they brought our pizza that there were no plates, napkins or silverware. We had to ask for these as well from different employees (none of which were our waitress because it was too hard to get her attention) We had four people dining and they brought three plates. A gentleman walked by who worked there and asked if we ordered the chicken Parm sandwich. We said yes and he said he was sorry there was a mix up. Our waitress didn’t even remember he ordered it or that it didn’t come out. She was not very friendly and seemed very passive with us. When the sandwich finally came it was two pieces of bread, a plain piece of chicken and sauce on one side of the bread! Most of the staff minus a few were not friendly and seemed annoyed when we asked for things that should have been provided. An older gentleman was walking around checking on a few tables but never stopped by our table.(not sure if he was a manager) We were not impressed at all. Personally I will not ever recommend this place to anyone looking...

We have been supporting Nicola’s for decades. Unfortunately, tonight was the absolute worst night that we have ever had at Nicola’s. Our server seemed new and that was okay, but another server stepped in to take our food orders. Our salads came out on time, but we had ordered two pales of fries yet the fries were the last thing to come to our table. They practically took an hour to get to our table. We had already gotten the pizza before our appetizer of fries. We alerted a server to let them know that our fries never came. Yes, they did in fact discount our food but that does not take away the fact that the attitude of the food runners, servers, and hostess were absolutely rude. The attitudes of them were awful. From the moment we stepped in the door, the hostess had such an awful attitude and so did the older lady who is a hostess as well. You would think after all of her years working for Nicola’s, she would have developed a much better attitude. She has seen our family for many many years due to us always supporting and celebrating anything at Nicola’s. I believe her name is Kelly. Her presence is very unwelcoming which is a shame because she is literally the front of the house. On top of this, they wanted us to stand outside in the cold with our children instead of standing inside to wait for our table. Moral of the story, the orders got messed up terribly and the service was horrible. Usually, it’s a great experience at Nicola’s, but the staff tonight was horrific. Luckily, we had a nice lady who stepped in and took care of us; she was great. It is very sad to see Nicola’s employees treat people who are putting food on their family’s tables, supporting their business, and helping their employees make money treat customers so poorly. We loved supporting Nicola’s but I fear it will be a long time before we ever return. I was very disappointed in the...

Normally only write positive reviews but tonight…couldn’t let this go. I called and ordered one large pizza and sandwich at 5:39pm. Gentleman who took my phone order told me 25 minutes for my order to be ready. I arrived at Nicola’s at 6:00pm. At the take out counter was told my order would be another 5 minutes and they will “call my name” when it’s ready.” 6:30 nothing…I walked up and inquired about order. He brought it right to me. I asked him “How long has this been sitting here and why didn’t you call my name like you said you were going to when ready?” He said “We don’t call everyone’s name when it’s ready.” Huh?? “I said you need to get a better system, and you told me you were going to call my name that’s why I didn’t come up here.” Due to already waiting so long, I called Nicola’s to speak to Manager about what had just occurred and having to bring home a cold pizza and sandwich. I asked to be transferred to a Manager & was told Manager was not available, and the Manager was at the take out area. The gentleman I was speaking to, failed to hang up the phone and I heard his entire conversation he had with a female employee discussing my phone call. The female employee said “Well why didn’t she come up to the window earlier” basically saying it was my fault that I waited so long. She also said mocking “these customers complain about not coming back and they always do”. What should of been said was “Hey we need to make sure we are calling everyone’s name when ready so this doesn’t happen again…glad it was brought to our attention.” I know restaurants are busy and mistakes can be made, but it was how it was handled after the fact. Henlopen Pizza Kitchen will continue to get...
