I love Thai food so much, so Bangkok quickly became one of my favorite restaurants when I moved to the area about three and a half years ago. The food is fresh and authentic. When you pull into the parking lot there's a sign that reads "Thai Cuisine" above their door. It is located in a strip mall with a few other businesses.
The ceilings are high and the decor fairly simple and understated. But whatever is lacking in the plain interior is more than made up for in the quality of the food! I'd eat their food sitting in a cardboard box, and I'd enjoy the entire experience!
I've been here on several occasions and have never seen more than three other tables occupied. I really can't fathom this, I think this place is a hidden gem that most people may overlook. What a shame.
There is a menu on the table which lists several cocktails, and I usually pick the Mango Tango, which is made with tequila, triple sec, and mango juice. It is sweet and delicious. After ordering my usual, I saw the Gin Sling, and I think I'll try that next time. It has gin, lemon juice, and club soda. They have Thai tea, of course, and it makes one hell of a dessert drink, the Thai Tea Martini.
For starters I usually order the satay. You get 4 chicken skewers with a side of the peanut curry to dip. When it comes to ordering my entrée, I keep changing my mind until the server comes to take my order. I love everything, and it's such a hard decision for me! I've had the red and yellow curry, which both come with a side of jasmine rice. I've also tried the pad Thai and pad see ewe. There is nothing that I have tried here that doesn't make my mouth water just thinking about it!
Do yourself a favor and pay Bangkok a visit if you haven't yet had the pleasure!...
Read moreRead the whole thing please....this is an old post i guess i forgot to post from late 2019 or early 2020 was given 2 stars: The service was slow and spring rolls came last. Not authentic. More american Chinese take on Thai dishes. Not heat in papaya salad, nor spicy beef salad. Tiny mediocre mango w sticky rice and only a touch of coconut cream. Thai ice tea was OK, but not homemade. NEW REVIEW AUG 9 2022: Pretty Awesome! Lunch Service was excellent even with just the owner doing front of house. He was friendly and attentive and I asked who owned this place from last time since there is marked improvements. He did but admits he has tweaked his recipes. Thank goodness. The Thai icetea was exceptional and served in a nice size glasses. Hubs ordered something I would not have--avacado shrimp Spring rolls. YUMMY! I got the spicy beef salad and forgot to mention. add heat but it came out pretty good. The beef was perhaps a tad overcooked bc I usually eat that medium rare. And the iceberg lettuce a tad wilty and I prefer crunchy romaine. I ordered a side of sticky rice to go with my salad but I would've preferred it served in something other than tin foil bc it stuck to it. Hubs got a ginger chicken and beg stir-fry dish that was right tasty. For desert, I Ordered mango and sticky rice and that was good. very pretty esp in the white ceramic dinnerware and real utensils Thai style: fork and spoon. Other important to me i pressive details: Coke producta and nice paper dinner napkins and a clean bathroom. Overall it was less costly than our usual spot, very clean and of good value. Deinately my new favorite...
Read moreOn Saturday, August 3rd, my friends and I decided to dine at Bangkok Thai Cuisine for late lunch around 2:00pm in the afternoon before heading to Cape Henlopen, Delaware. My friends ordered drunken noodles and fried rice for the entrée, and I ordered mixed vegetables with steam rice. The food was not completely bad.
In terms of my food (mixed vegetables with steam rice), it was just bland. There was hardly any flavor to this dish. The sauce tasted like water. The drunken noodles was deeply soaked in oil. You will probably find more oil on this dish than a gas station. The fried rice was also okay and it was a little dry for my taste. And I usually don't like to complaint when I am hungry.
In terms of service, the waitress did not do much. She took our order and delivered our water and food. At the end of the meal, my friend took care of the bill and the rude waitress had the audacity to tell him to "Give Better tip." While she was verbally saying this to him, she made a disgusting face like Shrek. If Dreamworks was to make another movie, I really think this particular waitress could take the role of Shrek. The face was simply unpleasant and unnecessary.
I normally don't like to write negative reviews, but I felt that the experience had to be told to the general public even though I did not have to pay for my meal. This entire experience did not jive with me or my friends. I have written 99 percent positive reviews and you can see my other public posts. I have nothing to hide. The experience was just simply awful; however, the ambiance was cute. They even have a table for...
