The tough thing about Wu's is just how inconsistent their food is. We placed the exact same order two weeks in a row on Thursdays. The first week, everything we ordered was terrific (well, except the hot and sour soup...see below). The same order this week wasn't in the same class.
Shrimp rolls last week were fresh and crisp. This week, they were limp and greasy. We had to wring the grease out of them.
Pork lo mein that was terrific last week was tasteless and had very little other than noodles in the dish this week.
General Tso's Chicken at least tasted fresh last week was mushy and overcooked this week. There were pieces of cardboard in the dish as well.
The Hot and Sour soup that we always get is never really hot or sour. But it is flavorful and well-prepared. We've just learned that we need to add two tablespoons of rice vinegar and 2 teaspoons of crushed red pepper, then microwave the soup for a couple of minutes before serving. So, that's at least one thing we've figured out how to fix.
So....now we're back to square one with Wu's. We avoided them for nearly a year. Tried them twice to find they still are batting .500. That might be good in baseball. It's not good in...
Read moreWu’s Kitchen has become my regular spot for Chinese takeout, and for good reason. They’re fast, the food is consistently good, and the prices are very reasonable. If you’re looking for a place that hits all the marks for classic Chinese-American dishes, this is it.
The menu features all the usual takeout staples — think lo mein, fried rice, egg rolls, and orange chicken — but I always come back for their General Tso’s Chicken. It’s flavorful, just the right amount of crispy, and comes with a generous portion of rice.
While most customers opt to take their meals to go, Wu’s does offer a small dining area if you’d rather eat in. It’s not fancy, but it’s clean and functional. Recently, they’ve added online ordering, which makes grabbing dinner on a busy night even more convenient.
If you’re in the mood for dependable, tasty Chinese food without breaking the bank, Wu’s Kitchen is definitely worth...
Read moreVisited Rehoboth Beach for the first time this past weekend with a group of friends. There were 8 of us and we're all picky (well... specific lol :) eaters. Found this spot on Google, ordered dinner for everyone, and picked up.
The food was outstanding. There wasn't a single complaint from anyone. We ordered a ton of food including shrimp fried rice, house fried rice, young chow fried rice, chicken with broccoli, crispy sesame chicken, wonton soup, and lots of egg rolls. Large portion sizes and fresh quality. The young woman who took my order was very pleasant and didn't miss a detail for any specific entree. One of the ladies provided us with some almond cookies as well.
Next time I'm in Rehoboth Beach, I'll be...
