Coffee Barrel — Restaurant in Delhi Charter Township

The Coffee Barrel is a long-standing favorite of mine dating back to my college days at MSU. For years, I continued to get my Coffee Barrel fix by mail-ordering their beans. Their current location is new to me. They have moved from their old location closer to campus, but the new location has a comfortable, small seating area with tables, chairs and even a couple of armchairs. They have a wide variety of beans available for purchase and I have always found their coffee to be excellent. They roast their own coffee and much of it is fair trade coffee. The entrance is handicap accessible and I believe the bathrooms are as well. Though the bathroom entrances may be a bit narrow to navigate with a wheelchair, I think they are still accessible. A small selection of food is available, although it is the typical cafe fare - pastries, cookies, etc. Ample free parking available in an adjacent parking lot. Although it is a little bit more of a hike from campus these days, it is still a favorite coffee stop for me when I'm in the Lansing/East...

Cons: this is not a coffee shop you can be in a hurry and think you’re getting your latte/frappe in 1-2 mins. A bit slow, and the atmosphere is a bit boring/dated but still cute. But no breakfast sandwiches/protein/yogurt, just Risen bakery items. Also, no places at all to plug in your devices for charging for people who are wanting to use this as a relax place. :☹️ Anyway to get some ground floor or low wall plugs installed? Overall cute, I come over to visit when I have appointments in the area, stop in and will continue to be a customer, just think improvements...

I have decided that I like this place better than the other coffee shops in the Lansing area because is always spotlessly clean every time that I have been there. And it has always been relatively QUIET in there. The quite ambience is a Biggby for me.😀 🍵🍵☕Some of the other shops around are so loud and noisy that it's distracting or you need to speak loudly so your coffee mate can hear you. They also have a extensive selection of coffees from all over the world for take home purchase. They even have Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee for take home!!!
