El Burrito Mexicano — Restaurant in Delhi Charter Township

Was so excited to visit this restaurant at their new location. The wait for it to open was long and much anticipated. Finally made it this morning. The food was decent but the set up is horrible. You have to wait in line to order, and then wait in line to pay after. They are short staffed. There were nothing but dirty tables when we walked in. I should have taken pictures. Might be a good idea to have people actually give you a name for their order so you can call it out, instead of walking around holding food for somebody else, wandering around trying to figure out who the food is for. Giving food to the wrong tables. The staff is friendly, but overwhelmed. We had to ask for silverware and our drinks after our food was already placed at our table. Would be a good idea to maybe have an area to put dirty dishes since they're left on the table from the previous customers. Who knows if these tables are cleaned regularly or not, hard to say. Sadly disappointed as I really enjoyed the dining experience when it was in the Lansing location. I think that the owner has bitten off more than she can chew by having an actual sit-in restaurant here in Holt. Might want to revisit the thought of what this business should be. Maybe take out only? Since you can't accommodate people that actually want to sit in and eat because you have dirty tables, with dishes piled up from the previous customers and you don't have enough staff to actually wait on the customers. Also very upset that they are not serving breakfast. And with the setup it was hard for families to even set together. So...

My husbands taco dinner was ok, not great. Chips and salsa were good. I’ll give them that. I ordered chicken TACO salad.. when I got it, started eating it. Looked like canned shredded chicken. I had to dump a lot of salsa, I mean, A LOT to give it any taste. I tried to get waiter’s attention at first and another mans also, to no avail, it was very busy and they seemed to be more attentive to the locals. It was lunchtime, I ate the salad. As I got up to use the bathroom, waiter asked how things were to my husband, he told him his tacos were good. When I came back, I told waiter when he brought the bill that my salad was very bland. No seasoning on meat. He stated they have to be careful of taco seasoning because it bothers some people. I laughed. I said it’s chicken taco salad! He said different people cook at times. Then he checked and said next time they’d have to add more garlic. What? Couldn’t even taste it. He said they’d “take care of it”. They took $2.00 off the bill. Yes, I should have said something immediately, tried. The we ordered water and he put two pops on the bill. I had to have them correct that. Not impressed. We stopped there on Friday of Labor Day Weekend on our way out of town. Won’t be going back. I don’t know why other reviews are good. We go to many Mexican restaurants, this would be a zero, but I’ll give them a 2 for...

The food was so good that I returned a week later with friends to have dinner. As I sat there, waiting for my dinner to come. I couldn't help but notice two little boys brothers I was told that live in a Motel up the street coming down towards the restaurant . They walked in and sat down behind us. NO shoes NO shirt NO service right .... Wrong they were given water to cool down from the hot day and I asked the boys if they would like something to eat and the owner told me that they were already given something to eat and a To go bag to take home. Now this is a real Family restaurant helping those that need it the most and giving back alittle bit to helping others..... Your food is really Good but your Heart is made of Gold.... Thank...
