We visited this place after a track meet. We waited about 15 minutes before we received our takeout order. I ordered a side of tabouli. My sister ordered the grilled salmon, rice, hummus and tabouli.
Once home, I was surprised at how much tabbouleh was in a side order. (One half of a square styrofoam container.) A lot! There was a bunch of parsley, and perhaps a little bit of mint-- if any, about eight tiny dices of tomato spared throughout, and a very small amount of quinoa - - not bulgar. THAT WAS IT! No seasoning whatsoever. NONE!! No lemon juice, no Olive oil, no seasoning. Argh! It was fresh, but it was simply awful! 😞. It was like eating grass. I put half of it in a tuna and noodle salad. The save was, the next day I went and bought a lemon, squeezed the juice in there, added Olive oil, seasoned it with some adobo, and that made it palatable. Actually it was quite tasty after I seasoned it.
I told my sister, because it was her idea to stop there. She indicated that the same was true for her tabouli, and that there was absolutely no seasoning in her rice, on her salmon -- which was cold and dry, and none in the hummus-- it was simply plain chickpea mush!
Needless to say, that's my last...
Read moreThe ladies at the register were extremely sweet and nice and gave great suggestions, and the salon was beyond delicious. I will try the shrimp next time. The salad was nice and crisp, the Naan is filling and so good my sister and I ate so much on the salad and bread we took majority of our food home to eat for dinner the next day. You have to try the food. The establishment is kind of the hole in the wall bar vibe, but it is cozy, quaint, friendly, and a place that would be great to be a go-to each month. I may not have pictures up yet but will. Writing a novel has taken a lot of myself. Disability wise- the door you may need help with if in a wheelchair. I had my walker, so it was good, and a person ran up to grab the door, but it is light and pretty handicap friendly but no handicap button, but that's common. The bathroom has an accessible stall, but the main reason I took off a star. I wish I got the girls name, but their smiles looked genuine and polite, and one mentioned if I needed anything to let her know. They have chairs and booths and seem transfer friendly, but I had my walker but will try next time. The food is something that can soothe a rainy day and add spark on a sunny...
Read moreI was happy with the menu options. I enjoyed my meal. I ordered a lamb Kaftan lunch plate, side of Hummus, and salad. I added two sides of grape leaves to my order (one veggie, the other had lamb). The food was great my only critique was that I should have told them to make it spicy. Being an Ann Arbor business I should have expected them to make the meals more palatable for their customers. But the sauces offered didn't blend well with the food's flavors, they tamed the flavor as though it was already spicy! Left me disappointed bc I had the same meal, better, elsewhere. Although they get points for a n entertaining spread, good flavor profile in spite of my personal tastes. And great service (I tipped on takeout) the food was cooked to order. Everything hot was supposed to be, and the salad was one of the best I've had in a long time. The Tzhiki sauce was refreshing with the house salad. The veggie grape leaves were filling and had satisfying flavor. The meat grape leaves were almost as satisfying as...
