Philly Grill — Restaurant in Delray Beach

Their cheesesteak was good but I'm pretty sure it's not Philadelphia authentic good. There are locations in other states (not including PHI, PA) & others in Florida; also these locations are franchised. I have a serious issue with philly grill's pricing & business ethics. They allow online & separate app ordering. The problem is they charge extra fees even when picking up your order via the app or website. If you call the order in there are no extra fees UNLESS you're paying with a credit card. When you order over the phone they won't tell you that; they'll just tell you the cash price without telling you it's cash only. It's not until you get to the register to pay where you find out they charge extra for using your credit card. Now it was only 42 cents extra but the issue is they don't tell you ahead of time. They probably do this because they're afraid they're going to scare business away but no matter what it's wrong. There are gas stations in florida that still charge extra for using a credit card but the prices on the signs outside will usually say "cash only". Not telling customers ahead of time or having signs inside the store to indicate "cash only" is a deceitful & scumbaggish way of doing business. 15 years ago & prior I was accustomed to walking into chinese food establishments where they wouldn't take credit cards at all or charging extra for the use of a credit card but they had the decency to have signs in the restaurant or tell you over the phone. I have been dining here for over 5 years now and I have to say, since they’ve changed management it is not the same. Every time we come we order double meat on our cheesesteaks (an extra $4.50) on top of the $11 and some change it costs to purchase the sandwich and they’re ALWAYS skimping on the meat. My husband knows that they do this so checked our sandwiches to make sure there was in fact double meat and there was not. He brings the sandwich back in to ask for the double meat and they refuse so I call when he gets home. I spoke to the “Manager” who then explained that a cheesesteak is supposed to have “lettuce, onions, mushrooms, and peppers” so if all I order is onions, the meat may look a bit light. What sense does that make? I didn’t ask for suggestions, I simply ask that I get what I paid for. I then asked that she provide me a refund to which she states she is unable to refund my original payment method and that i’ll have to come in for cash - however when I asked for her name she refused to give it to me. I actually think the food here is pretty good. The Philly is cook deliciously and the fries are great. I’ve lived in Delray for years and I used to order from here takeout from here two or so times a month for me and my family averaging $50 to $60 bucks an order. That is until the incident.

I came here with a friend to get lunch one day and they messed up his order. When we told the person up front she rolled her eyes at us and told us there was nothing wrong with the food . She didn’t offer to fix it for him or even apologize for the inconvenience. When I asked to speak to a manager she told us that she was the manager and to get out. Neither one of us felt like dealing with her so we left to go eat at the pizza place next door, but I swear I could hear her say some snide under her breath as we were leaving. It was honestly the worst customer service experience I’ve ever had she was just so disrespectful.
