Listen. Iām not in the business of trying to mess with peopleās livelihood. But Iām angry. I had been to this salon twice previously and had good experiences. It was time for me to go get another manicure, so I utilized their online booking system. I made the mistake of just randomly booking a time ā and therefore letting them book me with a nail tech rather than selecting one I had during the previous two visits. Big mistake.
I usually donāt stare at my hands while they are being done. I like to look at my phone or just kind of lazily stare around. This was a mistake as well. The tech, Lucy, had cut my cuticles which I usually avoid but at first she seemed very confident at what she was doing. It was only after she was sloppily applying the gel polish that I really watched her, and to my horror realized she had a very exposed plantar wart on her finger. She wasnāt wearing gloves, hadnāt covered the wart at all, and was also utilizing that finger to try to pick at my nails. I was immediately horrified and angry that my blind trust has lead to an exposure.
I donāt want to spread misinformation about perinatal warts, but the truth is they are extremely contagious. They are a common result of poor sanitation practices at nail salons. Any shared surface can hold the virus for days, and directly touching the wart can transmit the virus.
I saw Lucy remove her metal tools from a sealed bag, so I am praying that they really do utilize an autoclave.
Having a finger wart is not a reflection of who she is as a person, but unfortunately exposing all of your clients to the virus while performing reckless nail cutting is not okay. If I was a client with active warts, Iād expect and hope they turn me away until treatment. Between my bleeding cuticles, my messy polish job, and the moment of wart realization ā this was a nightmare.
Iām super disappointed. Now I have to hope and cross my fingers that in months (because plantar warts donāt show right away) I am not showing any signs of warts.
I called the salon after I angrily left and informed the front desk staff member, and she said she would make her manager aware. But who knows. Like I said, I had two techs there previously who did great ā hence why I went back. But the whole team needs to be held to a standard.
A really, really, one...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIf I could give zero stars I would! Iāve been a loyal customer of this salon for a while now. This past week was the last straw. I went in on Monday afternoon to get a fill which they did but didnāt even get my color all the way to the edges of my nail or cover the tip/top of my nail. Now less than a week later the product is breaking off my real nails!? I guess I should have figured since while getting my nails done there were numerous other women coming in with repairs needed to fix broken nails! Not only that but I was rushed out the door bc my nail tech had someone else waiting for her after me! Umm excuse me but I am paying for your service and had an appointment! Not to mention they are using ILLEGAL PRODUCTS!! Read other reviews! When I called to ask for refund the girl stated āwe do not give refundsā umm if this is the way you plan on running a business, extremely rude, unprofessional and using illegal products, you will be out of a business real soon! Please stay far away from this business!! There are many other nail salons in the area and for a more reasonable price that actually use FDA approved products!
Update to original post: So I went to a new nail salon to fix the mistake Baby Nails made. I was so saddened and almost had to laugh at the fact that they do not even use real liquid gel! The new salon used gel out of jar and is painted on the nail. Which is the correct way to do liquid gel. Baby nails āLiquid gelā consists of āgelā out of a nail polish bottle that is put on in 3 steps and cured under ice lamp in between each polishing step. This is the cheap way of doing liquid gel nails and is not the correct or professional way! Please take your business elsewhere!!! How they are getting away with using illegal products is...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI can't even give you a one star this business messed up big time !!! My nails look sooooo bad.I have been in the beauty industry for years and never have been treated so poorly i got a full-set the other day and next day they were peeling and crumbling off . I called to get them fixed the lady at the front told me to come in and they would take care of me with a fullset. Next thing i know i walk in and the man says I'm not fixing this for free i was going to tip him generously . He laughed in my face and got up from the chair and walked away. I was shocked. By the way he treated me it made me feel so upset and disrespected, like my business did not matter. I walked back up to the receptionist desk, and the receptionist couldnāt say anything. She looked shocked, and told me that She would talk to the owner again. She then stated that they could not give me the full set after they already promised it to me because the man did not want to do it. I was so upset because i took off work to get them fixed as i have an event today . If this is what you think is acceptable it's not i am very upset that i was mislead and now i have to pay for another fullset somewhere else since this has now happened as this is not how you run an operation. Very sad as this is so close to my house and had a lot of potential. Unfortunately, they are very rude and have a lack of communication between staff . You cannot tell the client one thing and then you come in and that itās completely different. I think they need better communication the owner should have called me and compensated me fairly instead, I got no service at all. Very...
