Golden Star Restaurant — Restaurant in Deming

Pretty disappointing. Takeout order. Food was hit or miss. Service subpar, language barrier issue (while not uncommon for many Chinese restaurants, particularly frustrating in light of everything I note below). Ordered egg rolls, fried dumplings, egg drop soup, S & S chicken & Mongolian Beef. Meals don't come w white rice, had to request it for additional charge, a first for me. Food all packed in foldable styrofoam boxes w tab & slot closures. All stacked in a plastic grocery bag. Get home, open bag to find: Mongolian Beef box came open, oily Mongolian sauce puddled at bottom of bag soaking egg roll bag, egg rolls and napkins. Egg roll bag soaked, ripping & disintegrating. Egg rolls an oily, soggy Mongolian sauce soaked mess, threw them out. No duck sauce packed for egg rolls, no dumpling sauce packed for dumplings. 2 dipping cups of S&S sauce instead of the usual small styrofoam bowl I get everywhere else in the country (guess I should be glad it wasn't one dipping cup). The crab rangoons had zero crab and were salted way too heavily. They should rename that menu item, cream cheese and salt rangoons. One of the entrees I got with my plate was the beef bbq ribs; The meat tasted like the inside of a dirty fridge and it had a suspicious sweet/fishy(?) flavor. I suspect that the uncooked rib meat had been left uncovered in their cooler which is a food safety concern. Unfortunately for me, the bbq ribs and crab rangoons were the first things I tried and they were bad enough to stop me from eating the rest of my meal. We fed 4 people and nobody enjoyed the food. The portions are huge but that isnt why we had a ton of food leftover. The leftovers sadly ended up in the trash because nobody will eat them. I was going to leave 2 stars because of the serving size but after seeing all of this food go to waste, why bother giving huge servings of horrible food? I would have rather had a tiny edible meal. We ate here around a year ago and the quality of food was much better. After yesterdays experience, I dont think we will be ordering...

I wouldn't ever recommend coming to this restaurant, my 7 year old had a combo A and once they placed it next to the cashier he tried grabbing his plate and they snatched it rudely and asked him to not grab it until they see what combo it was and once I ordered a combo B with lomein, bbq chicken, and honey shrimp they asked if I wanted any Sauce on my shrimp and of course I would say yes, I'd like the honey. After I asked they looked like they couldn't find any honey so instead they topped my shrimp off with a bunch of MAYO. It looked like it's been some old mayo and after I asked them to replace it they gave me an attitude and started complaining in Chinese to their coworkers.
