Disappointing Experience – Won’t Be Returning

My husband and I were really looking forward to trying Red Bird Fried Chicken, but our experience was incredibly disappointing from start to finish.

When we walked in, it was uncomfortably hot inside—easily around 85 degrees. No one greeted us. The woman at the counter was completely disengaged, staring at her phone and barely acknowledging us. When we asked simple questions about the menu—like what the Asian sauce tasted like or whether the shrimp was Gulf or imported—she laughed and said she’d never tried anything on the menu.

I ordered the signature chicken sandwich with mashed potatoes. The sandwich was small, just two chicken tenders and a little sauce. The mashed potatoes were cold, clearly instant, with a small drizzle of gravy. They were so bad I couldn’t eat them.

My husband also ordered a signature chicken sandwich with fries. When our order was finally ready, they only gave us the fries. We told them we had ordered two sandwiches, and the woman just shrugged and said she only heard fries—no apology, no offer to fix it. So we left with only one sandwich between us.

We waited about 20 minutes for the chicken sandwich, and we were the only people in the restaurant—aside from an elderly couple who came in about 10 minutes after us. Despite the empty dining room, the service was slow and careless. When our food was ready, they just set it on the counter without a word. No “here you go,” no “thank you,” and no acknowledgment as we left.

so i been here about 5 times within the month and before i wrote this review i wanted to give this place a fair assessment! So here it is, the chicken is always dry with little flavor. there "bisquit" is nothing more than what i believe is a chinese donut without sugar, they rarely get orders right, there very slow! Also i have posted below 2 different reciepts on 2 different days, and if you look at it one day i ordered a 2 piece and the next day i ordered a 3 piece and i guess by magic you can see that there the same exact price, HMMMMMM! Yea theres a reason why there NEVER anyone there ......well sometimes they might have 1 or 2 customers who just dont know any better i guess. Went to Redbird Fried Chicken in Denham Springs from a recommendation of a friend. The service was good. We ordered an 8 piece bone in half spicy / half regular they gave us 3 wings / 2 legs regular & 1 breast 2 thighs. The breast, thighs & 1 leg where VERY dry like they where sitting under the heat lamp for a while the other 4 pieces where dry also. Ordered a LARGE of each: Mac & cheese which was a 12 oz container with 8 oz in it and (2) 4oz containers of cole slaw. Spent over $40. Looks like this place gets good reviews but this was some of the worst fried chicken I have had in a long time.
