The food was outstanding! I ordered the crab cake appetizer and it was so freaking tasty! The sauce that they were served in made the dish.
For the main course I ordered the Greek salad. I am a big fan of Mediterranean food. While I would have appreciated a few more olives and artichokes, it didn’t really diminish the enjoyment I got from the meal.
For dessert I ordered the baklava. These honey soaked pastries are a Greek go to for me. They used some sort of fruit juice in the honey glaze that paired magnificently with the cinnamon and nutmeg of the filling. I am thinking lime, but I could not tell for sure.
The waitress neither hovered nor neglected me at any time. The hostess was accommodating to my unusual seating request and she relayed my desires to my waitress. Between the two of them I was truly impressed as their communication and professionalism has become a rarity in today’s food industry.
The decor was the most unimpressive part of the experience. That is not to say that it was poor, only that the food and service greatly outshined...
Read moreCafe Phoenicia is a nice Greek and Lebanese style restaurant with cozy atmosphere, friendly staff, and excellent food. I've never experienced long wait times when ordering and the staff are always very friendly. The food itself is very tasty. I usually get the sampler so I can have a variety of their offerings, but I have also had the lamb and a few of their pastas, and am always impressed. The weak point in the food for me is the salad that comes with most meals. It is often over-dressed and very plain. The little bit of mint they add to the dressing does keep it interesting, though. The atmosphere is nice, save for the big screen tv in the dining area. I've come to accept that TVs are a staple of almost any restaurant now, but I can't help but notice how out of place it feels in this kind of Grecian atmosphere. The prices are moderate to high, but the value is certainly there in terms of quality and portion size. All on all Cafe Phonecia checks all my boxes and is a frequent...
Read moreThis was my first experience with Cafe Phoenicia, and I was not disappointed. I was greeted quickly and shown to a table. Piper then introduced herself as my server and was pleasant and professional. Often, the server makes the difference between a good meal and an excellent dining experience. Piper served that role perfectly. When I asked for input on an appetizer and entree, she was quick to offer useful feedback and was engaging and attentive throughout the meal.
I started with the Moussaka, and it was very good with the sauce, onion, peppers, and spices, making for a flavorful opening to the meal.
The entree of shrimp over rice pilaf and sauteed vegetables was a perfect light evening meal. Plenty on the plate but does not when you down. Overall, this was an excellent dinner, and I will gladly...
