Sakura Sushi and Steak House — Restaurant in Denham Springs

Awesome dinner! My family and I were visiting from Texas and decided to have dinner here. From what I saw, it seems like it's a family owned restaurant-mom, dad, brother and sister all work there. We read a review stating this place is a hidden gem. It really is!! We totally recommend you give this place a chance! (My daughter and I are always up to trying new places-and reading reviews before hand) When it was time for dinner we agreed with the others (8 people, counting the 2 babies) that we would try this place. We went for an early dinner and were surprised that there weren't other people eating there. At first it was a bit awkward being the only customers. I even asked my daughter "are you sure we're at the right place?" For dinner we started with some spring rolls and a California roll (sushi). 😋 delicious!! Our plates came with soup and salad. The soup 🍲 is really good 👍 I didn't really care for the salad dressing (still ate the salad dry-gotta have your veggies) I regret not taking a picture but I ordered the Hibachi steak with fried rice and veggies. It was cooked perfectly 🥰 💞 😋 I give this place 2 thumbs up for the delicious food and wonderful service (it's great when you don't even have to ask for drink refills)! I wish the best for this restaurant and the friendly people...

Extraordinary service. My girlfriend, daughter and I were trying to find a place later at night that was still open so that we could get a spicy soup for my little girl's cold. Sakura Sushi and Steak was 10 minutes from closing when we called. We were 8 minutes away. They not only told us that they would stay open for us, but they asked for me cell phone number to send me a copy of their menu so that we would know what we wanted when we arrived. Honestly, we still did not know when we got there. But, instead of rushing us, they handed us the menu and answered all questions that we had about any of their food. Despite being an avid Chinese food person, I knew nothing about Japanese food. They helped me pick out their House Udon noodles, and my girlfriend the Sweetheart sushi roll. Along with a soup for my sick little two year old. Despite her cold, she ate everything! It was fantastic. I highly recommend this place for both the customer service...

The food was very good and the miso soup was also . We visited on a Sunday evening when there were hardly any other customers . The order was prepared in very little time and the staff kept checking on us . The thing that I would like to see changed is to move the ' family table ' away from the center front dining area. It just seems awkward to come in for a Dinner and have the management family coming and going next to our table / booth . I believe that area should be more formal . We were seated by a young lady in a tee shirt and cut-off shorts . Again , ' beach attire ' for an evening dinner ?? . To sum it up the food was all good and flavorful , the background music was nice , but I felt like we were eating in someone's kitchen . We had three or four different persons interact with us , one professional and knowledgeable person would have been...
