This is the kind of restaurant my family and I have been looking for on the Cape. It’s fine dining in a beautifully classy, yet still casual, environment. Located in the heart of Dennis, the decor strikes the perfect balance of fancy and carefree - perfect for a summer night. (but of course any other time of the year as well!) Anytime we’ve called, we’ve actually reached someone - which seems to happen less and less these days at restaurants - and anyone we spoke with was extremely helpful. The hostess was very welcoming, and Madison, the woman who took care of us throughout the night - couldn’t have been nicer. Our entire order was paced out perfectly, she was there whenever we needed something, and was just generally a positive presence throughout the evening. And the food … the first word that comes to mind is artistry. You can just tell how much thought, care, creativity, and planning had gone into each and every item on the menu. The chilled farm lettuces and the oyster chowder - their unique take on a Caesar salad and clam chowder - switched it up just enough to be refreshing yet familiar. The swordfish couldn’t have been cooked better and was surrounded by elegant risotto and broccoli stems - probably the best swordfish I’ve ever had at a restaurant. And the lobster pastry - I’m not sure I’ve ever seen or tasted anything quite like this - I simply can’t imagine a better way to present lobster. As soon as we took a bite, we ordered another immediately. The flavor they’ve conjured up is something I’ll be dreaming of until I return! So grateful this place exists and has put so much care in creating this fine dining experience...
Read moreFIN is one of my top 3 restaurants on the Cape. It's my go-to for special occasions.
FIN has one of those menus that always has really interesting combinations that make you want to try something new, rather than just picking an old standby. I've probably been here 8-10 times now, and the food is always delicious and well prepared - I've never been disappointed. Guests I've taken here are always impressed by its quality as well as the beauty of the presentation.
Prices are on par with restaurants of this caliber in the area, though I think FIN is more consistent than many. While it's not inexpensive, I always feel like I've gotten good value for my money here.
The restaurant has a pretty classic Cape feel (like you're in an old house, not a building designed as a restaurant). The upstairs tends to be a bit quieter, though the stairs are steep, which is a consideration if you have less mobile people in your group.
The staff - both servers and hostesses - have always been very friendly, and we love coming here.
Overall, I highly recommend FIN, and it's a restaurant I always suggest to friends when they're looking for a great meal in the Dennis area. Looking forward to...
Read moreArguably one of the worst meals I've been served on 6A. Prior to ordering the "Weygu Sirloin", I asked the server for her opinion of this dish. She replied "its like butter". The reality, it was inedible - tough to the point where I needed to remove pieces from my mouth. When I brought this to her attention, she stated, "you should have told me." Her knee jerk response was obviously a poorly-veiled attempt to assign responsibility for this wretced meal back to the diner raising a valid issue.
Her next statement was, "I'll talk to him about it ". She did not elaborate upon who "him" was, but returned from the kitchen and said, "he will 'discount' your meal." Discount? She then said that she would like to get us dessert, clearly implying that thus was a gesture to soften the blow of a dish that should have never crossed the kitchen threshold. We ordered desert, Gelato and a flour-less chocolate cake. The Gelato was crystallized and the cake marginal.
When she came to the table with the bill, she announced, "the dessert is on the house" and walked away. I was astonished to see that the full $58 charge for my Weygu Sirloin remained on the check.
Save yourself the agony,...
