First I would like to say that I think they have very delicious ice cream. My issue is with the young people they have working there. Really don’t understand why owners think it’s acceptable to have older teens or young 20s working and managing their places of business! No they are NOT mature, respectful or in any way understand how to treat customers! Unless you are going to take the time out to train them , which is obviously something that’s not happening please have someone of more maturity with them!! If a customer is willing to pay for a cup of sprinkles why is that an impossible request to grant??? Seriously I had this issue with a young male there on Tuesday evening. Refused to allow me to buy a larger cup and he could not get past the fact that I had to go with his small little teaspoon of sprinkles. I was purchasing multiple pints of ice cream and simply wanted to be able to have sprinkles down the road for eating. What was even more perplexing is that I have purchased larger cup before and there was not an issue. He was rude and obnoxious about the whole thing and it just confirms my belief that you need at least one adult there to supervise the youngsters! I’m sure it would help your business greatly as I’ve read people complain about similar...
Read moreThis Beth Marie's has been our go-to for years. Tonight, I decided to visit since I now live in another city that doesn't have Beth Marie's. The customer service from the staff was good. The young lady that took our orders was patient, kind and professional. I can see her being a manager. I knocked off one star due to the unsanitary practices of a couple of the staff. The young lady making the waffles was wearing gloves but picked something from the corner of her eye or eyelash, rolled it between her fingers, and proceeded to make the cones while touching them and the equipment without changing her gloves or washing her hands. Then she rubbed her hair with the gloves on and made another cone without changing gloves. Another young lady handled cash with her gloves on. To be fair, I'm not sure if she served ice cream afterward or not. But having experience in the food industry, I am aware that these things are a no-no. However, I applaud the transparency of the owner, Bob, (or the person who responds to the feedback). I think he's awesome. You rarely see honest responses that are not auto-replies. I do have hope that the new management will help the young staff members to achieve the high standards that Beth Marie's has...
Read moreI have no pictures, and sadly, I don’t have very good feedback. Visited here on a Monday, it wasn’t too busy but it was clear the staff was overwhelmed and one person in particular was not too happy (he was slamming doors and utensils, very short, abrasive…). I asked for an egg cream, was told the machine isn’t working so that couldn’t be made. I asked for a scoop of ice cream, was told they were out of that flavor. I didn’t dare ask to try any flavors for fear (yes fear) of upsetting the employee even more. I asked for a small with one scoop of one flavor and one scoop of another flavor. It seems he was not able to hear me and gave me a wrong flavor. My husband asked for a limeade, it was literally just limes and water. The interactions with the staff drastically impacted my overall experience and current opinion of the ice cream, it is not currently favorable. As someone who loves ice cream I was willing to travel 45 minutes one way to specifically try Beth Marie’s based on feedback/reviews of others (I’m new to the DFW area) but after my experience I will not be traveling to try them again. If I am in the area I will give it another go and update this review but it is not a place I would recommend going out of...
