If I could give a negative, I would. I've lived in denton since 2018 and have purchased several times from this store. Last night, February 14, 2022 I purchased a purse with the logos of Burberry with tax $140.30 under the belief it was real. Upon researching, I believe now that Burberry is a counterfeit. I have also purchased several Coach brand purses, Dooney & Bourke brand purses, and other smaller brands. It is illegal to sell counterfeit trademark merchandise. All stores are required by law to authenticate trademarked merchandise prior to selling because it is against the law to sell if counterfeit and known. It is a FEDERAL offense. On February 15, 2022, I returned to their store to look at other name brand items they have out to sell: another Burberry, Louis Vuitton, Coach, and even a Gucci. The few I looked at were also counterfeit. I requested to speak to the store manager. She identified herself as Rebecca. I told her of the purses I believed were counterfeit. She said, "I don't know. We just put price because of name." She then put the purses back on the shelf to be sold. The Thrift Giant Denton store manager does indeed have knowledge that they are selling counterfeit purses. I also asked if they authenticated their pieces before selling them and was told no. I requested to know who the store owner was or if franchisee/corporate. She said franchise but didn't know who. Though, she made a phone call to someone and spoke Spanish, telling them of the situation. I requested a refund of the fake Burberry I purchased. Rebecca again called someone on her cell phone and spoke Spanish. She then told me no because it states on my receipt no refunds, no exchanges. I asked again for the information about the franchise owner name. She denied knowing it again and I told her that was a lie because she has called them 2 times. So I requested the corporate office information. She provided a business card. I have emailed and called with no response back as of 3:46 pm on 02/15/2022. I have also filed a complaint with the FBI complaint department, Intellectual Property Rights Center, and Denton Police Department. I have also contacted each trademark company to notify that Thrift Giant is selling counterfeit purses, has knowledge that they are counterfeit and selling them, and is refusing to take them off...
Read moreAs of today Saturday May 13 2017 6:25 pm. I would like to say first this is an awesome store and it's huge and I love it. I shop just to rate experiences at stores and recommend them, however I ended up personally shopping. The second thing I would like to discuss is the employees. There was two young girls at the register and the other one was very professional while the other one wasn't (which was my cashier). I asked her could I get my total as we go and she politely told me the system doesn't work that way but she will tell me at the end and I could take off the ones I don't want. However once we got to that point she seemed as if it would be a hassle but the other young lady working beside her told her that it isn't hard and she politely told her to do her job( great professionalism) then she suddenly left the counter because her friend who works there was upset (she seemed like she was a little hurt) so she said hold on one second and checked on her friend but the lady behind me was upset because she was ready to checkout and go, along with the other costumers. I understand that things happen but I agree with the professional young lady who told her to do her job. You can't always have a buddy system at work. She came back and as she was re ringing the items THAT I DID WANT up she seemed irritated that she had to(which I understand and definitely apologized) but when you're at work you can't be that way with costumers. The line of people behind me were very upset. I'm considered very patient so I wasn't too bothered I just think the attitude part showed toooo much in a negative way. It's good that you have SOME who can keep their team leaders in check because if you didn't I probably would have never got that...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I recently went to this store to purchase some clothing items. Aug. 13 at around 4:30. I was only in need of some shorts and when I went to check out the cashier was really rude. She seemed like she hated her job. After waiting she asked if I would be paying with card, I said yes and she just went back to checking other people out. She then rang me out at a different register. As she was putting the price my boyfriend told her we have the VIP card and she just looked at us and left to go help the other people again. After a minute or so she looked at me and said “ I actually can’t put your VIP card because you didn’t tell me you had in the beginning” that really pissed me off. After I told her that she didn’t ask me for it at the beginning, she kept telling me that she can’t apply because I didn’t tell her from the beginning. If she was being nice I would have just said okay whatever I’ll just pay the price but not with that snarky attitude! I kept telling her she never asked me for it and she said they actually don’t ask for it so I told her that she asked the white ladies in front of me if they had one. My boyfriend and I CLEARLY heard her asking the ladies in front of me if they had one. I don’t know if it’s because we were Mexican or young but it was not a good experience. I left her cash register and left to the front where the other cashier told me that her name is Natalie. She has a really short black haircut , like a bob and she had a few weird pins on her jacket. She didn’t even have a name tag on!! I love this Thrift Giant but if I see that cashier again I will not be going to her for anything!! Stay away from this rude cashier unless you...
