Since Google doesn't award zero stars or negative stars, I will start awarding them myself. This restaurant will have the first zero star. First things first, please don't believe everything you read on the internet. This restaurant is known for buying good reviews. Anywho, moving on. Taqueria Guanajuato lacks major customer service. If a mistake is made, they will blame the customer. The customer isn't right at this place, even if the customer IS TRULY right. The owner or cashier will not own up to their mistake or offer an apology. They charge a $5.00 fee on credit and debit cards, so be careful when you order. The parking lot is a complete mess. There's limited slots and traffic builds up because of people attempting to reverse park their trucks. I do not recommend this place to anyone. It is extremely crowded, they lack a sense of privacy (people walk by and stare at you eating your food). Oh yeah, did I mention that it's crowded? It's the size of a shoe box. A fire hazard! Everything is crowded and hot. When you step foot inside you are hit by a strong smell of liquor. There's a store within this restaurant, or is it the other way around? A restaurant within a store? I don't know, but it's definitely confusing. They mostly cater to college student and drunks, so this is not a restaurant to take your family. Their prices are outrageous. For example, they will charge you $3.50 for a small corn. And if they are charging you $3.50 for a small corn, add in the charge for the debit card, that's around $9.00 for a small corn. Do you think that's fair? The owners of this restaurant are taking advantage of hard working people that don't necessarily know about Mexican cuisine. Denton lacks a lot in offering great authentic Mexican food. There's just not though restaurants, which leaves people to seek service from rude scamming places like these. The owner, Mirna Nuñez, rolled her eyes as we were entering the door. She continued to have a terrible awful attitude as we were making our order. She scoffed and spoke in an entitled tone. I understand that you're the business owner, but it is not necessary to degrade customers. If you are reading this review I would recommend you to take your business elsewhere. Rosa's Cafe does an amazing job and their food comes pretty close to being authentic. I would even also recommend eating at La Estrella. They sell amazing barbacoa tacos, and you are treated much better by the ladies cooking. Eat here at...
Read moreMy husband and I used to come here a lot. They used to make the best birria tacos we’ve ever had. But lately their food and service quality have dropped dramatically. Our takeout has consistently been cold and soggy the last couple times we’ve tried to come. And don’t get me started on their poor customer service. On several occasions the customer service was rude and dismissive. We excused it before because the food was still good then. But today we had called in an order and when my husband came to pick it up, they claimed they didn’t have an order for him at all. Then, they tried to assure him they’d put his order “at the front”, it took them 30 minutes to get it ready, and during that time several other people were able to come in and get their food ready within 5 minutes. And when we got our food it was, once again, cold and soggy. Suffice to say we won’t be coming back. TL;DR - Only spend your money here if you want racist staff to hand...
Read moreThis place is pretty authentic. I am definitely coming back to explore other menu items. Their beef fajita burrito with onions, and bell peppers was the best thing we ordered. I ordered nachos and they were not very good. I ended up eating half of my partner's burrito instead. We also ordered a chicken quesadilla and chips and quacamole, an elote cup and a churro filled with cream, so don't worry, my partner didn't starve!
Everything, other than the chips and nachos, was really good. You can tell they just take their chips from a store instead of making their own. They were also stale. I think, if you decide to eat here, you should avoid any dishes made with their chips.
Overall, If your money is tight, I would say this place is good to go to for a quick, cheap, and yummy take out meal. They have a small dining area inside of the restaurant but it's very tightly packed with chairs that are too large for the small space and very...
