Was excited to find a Mexican snack place like this in Denton. Had the Elote (corn in a cup) and the Mangonada. Elote was really good but the Mangonada was pretty meh.
Main complaint with the Mangonada was it wasn't chopped up well at all. So chunky that it couldn't go through my smaller clear normal sized straw (they give you that and a larger straw with candy on it). They also didn't put enough mango in it, so the mango taste was weak, and they relied on the mango to be the sweetener (it wasn't very sweet). The Mangonada was a big let down. My ninja at home makes a much smoother consistency.
Would give it 3.5 overall, but Google makes you round so I rounded it down to a 3 star as it is near a not-so-great part of the town. I'll be going back to try different things and will update the review as I go. Hoping they will upgrade the blender they have.
Update - May 2019
Went back and the mangonada still had chunks of ice and mango, and not like the slices of mango that you eat. I've gone to many mexican snack places and this is by far the worst mangonada I've had. I even asked them to chop it up more before they made it and either they didn't understand or their blender is that bad. Downgrading to 2 stars because they couldn't chop it up more for me even...
Read moreThey have the best snacks. Their wait time is excellent as well as the friendliness and service. Their antojitos taste amazing and full of flavor. I have tried a variety of snacks including tostilocos, raspa de fresa, raspa de limón, fresas con crema, elote entero, elote en vaso, fritos con queso and sandilla loca. All which have tasted fresh and delicious. The fruit is well conserved and the chips are never stale. The cheese they use for the fritos con queso always tastes great and is never dry and gross. My favorite combo is the elote entero with a raspa de fresa and fresas con crema. It's mostly packed with people in the evening when you start to crave a snack. I would recommend this place to everyone. Weekends are pretty packed all day but mainly starting around 6ish. You can pay with cash or card and they even sell ice cream there which again is so delicious. Family friendly! And they have seats where you can chill and wait for your snacks or even enjoy them there....
Read moreI was looking for a Mexican antojitos place since moving to the area. This place was good and definitely satisfied my craving. They have many options from corn in the cup, mangonadas, many prepared chips, chicharrones, cueritos. They have outdoor seating and the service is fast. The corn in the cup was good, not the best I have had, but i did enjoy it. I really liked that they have many hot sauces that are self serve. Be aware they don't put any hot sauce in the cup so if you add your own sauce make sure to mix it otherwise the top layer would be the only part with hot sauce. The mangonada was a bit watered down, but it was okay. I would come back for the corn and to try some of the other prepared chips. They take credit card...
