Zera Coffee & Events — Restaurant in Denton

What a fantastic coffee shop and bakery. I’m pretty picky about the taste of my coffee or coffee beverage.

Zera Coffee Denton got my cappuccino right! And the altruistic nature of the place will have me choosing Zera over other places. Plus the atmosphere and service are great. You walk into a large almost warehouse feel of a building. But the place is welcoming and comfortable. When you first enter there’s an L-shaped area straight ahead where you place your order. Many baked items covered by large glass domes are offered here. In this front area there are several tall tables & stools available. As you make your way back, to the left of where you place your order, an abundance of seating is revealed. The room opens up to this enormous warehouse type interior that feels like a hip & cozy urban living area. Plenty of comfortable living-room style seating areas to choose from. Choose from large and welcoming leather sofas & coffee tables, or a seating areas that offer large circular tables, with plenty of chairs around it.

Seemed like everywhere I looked there were more spaces carved out. Some of the spaces offered a more private feel providing the opportunity to have a more intimate conversation with a friend. Or to concentrate for an exam while enjoying a cup of coffee.

There’s also seating available upstairs.

My cappuccino was delicious! The servers were professional and friendly. I really liked the ambiance and appreciate the welcoming nature of Zera.

I felt like I could hangout here for a few hours while drinking cappuccinos, enjoying fresh baked cookies by myself or with friends.

It was a blustery, rainy kind of afternoon. The kind of dreary day that pulls the droplets from your windshield and settles them into your soul. The car was drifting, the battery was dimming, but work would not wait. So onwards I drove, into the abyss, as my thirst became unbearable. For a moment, I wondered "Will I find a place to quench this great need; to find solace in this storm?" But alas, there was no such solace to be found. Until...

Ahead, in the distance, a light. No, two. Now three! A string of lights, dancing like sparkling jewels in the cloudy murk of the distance. A glow from the porch of a house built on love, a siren song to the heart of this weary traveler. Beleaguered though I was, I drew closer, my every breath a hesitant sigh of hope. Then I saw it: ZERA Coffee. No doubt named for some goddess of love, some mother of hope with a pure, caffeinated soul. My eyes lifted, as did my spirit. The scent of freshly ground espresso beans filled my imagination as I pulled my car into their glorious driveway. As I parked, even my car shook with anticipation (actually it could have been the dying battery.) But with every step towards the door, my heart leapt just a bit higher. I’ve lived in Denton for almost a decade and not only is Zera’s Coffee a staple in the city as a top notch coffee shop and hangout spot but it operates with specific intention to provide support to those seeking freedom from addiction and steps to a better life at Denton Freedom House. As a customer and city resident, I have only seen Zera’s grow over the years. Their staff is incredibly friendly. Real people giving you their best! One of their staff members, Mona, made my coffee and breakfast taste seriously amazing for me!!! It was such a simple meal, but I could tell she put 100% into it. When I tell you that meal blessed me! And interacting with her was such a delight as she was such a genuine person. Hard to find nowadays! Seriously, Zera’s has been set apart from other coffee shops since I’ve been here and I’m happy to continue to make it my go-to place whether it’s for a cup of coffee, a chill atmosphere to meet with friends, or to be greeted by one of their many staff members. It’s a treat to get to go to Zera’s! And ALL for an amazing cause. When you purchase anything at Zera’s your proceeds go straight to helping men and women experience hope and healing.
