First, the good: Their pretzel appetizer is delicious! They had Peticolas Velvet Hammer on tap and that’s amazing. They comped our burgers that were overcooked.
Now, the bad: Summary. Terrible service, mediocre food.
My mom and I each asked to sample the Peticolas Velvet Hammer. Our waiter came back with only one sample of it and said he could only do one sample of an individual beer for the table. First time I have heard that in my life.
Twice the waiter had to come back to our table to tell us they were now out of something we ordered: first the fried pickles, and second the French fries. When we asked after the second item if this was common, he said yeah, cuz it was a Sunday and Fridays and Saturdays are their busiest days and they get new food delivered on Tuesdays. (So the food we were eating was almost a week old I guess?) When my mom selected a side Caesar salad instead of the fries she initially ordered, the Caesar salad was delivered as iceberg lettuce wedge and Caesar dressing. When she asked if this was a caesar cuz it is supposed to be romaine lettuce the Waiter replied “that is romaine”. The manager later explained that that is simply how they do their caesars but that the waiter was wrong to claim it was romaine lettuce: it was indeed iceberg. We learned the Caesar is listed on the menu as we received it, but since we didn’t order it from the menu, but as a force substitute, we did not know this. Our server had terrible table-side manners and no patience for a family like us trying to celebrate a birthday.
When we had to change appetizers because they were out of pickle spears (see item 2), the waiter tried to charge us for both appetizers when he delivered the check.
When we indicated we were ready to order food, our server said, “I have to go run food, but I’ll be back” and ran off.
Our Bacon Jam Goat Cheese Burgers were overcooked and under-seasoned. When we later spoke with the manager he said he loved those burgers and were surprised we didn’t like them. I told him we couldn’t taste the bacon jam or the pepper mayo. It just tasted like dry beef.
The house-made(?) potato chips were over-cooked and unsalted.
We waited a long time for the check to be delivered and then again to have our card charged (10 minutes each) . In fact, we had to start walking out and on the way out I stood and waited for our waiter and asked him to run my...
This was a sad and disappointing introduction to this place. Someone should feel embarrassed for this.
We walked in and there were four sellers: two bartenders (one Black wearing a Cowboys jersey, the other a bigger white guy), and two scrawny white servers. Total occupants in the building had to be 30 or less.
No one greeted us when we walked in and we made our way to find a booth upstairs.
After about five minutes, I went to find a server, who told us she would be at our table ASAP. Three minutes later, we had our full order in: a beer, two sandwiches, a salad, and a serving of fries.
Within five minutes, we were informed on of the sandwiches couldn't be made. No beer.
Ten minutes later, we flagged down a different waitress and informed her we were still waiting on a draft pour. She replied that the bar was very backed up, that the ten-ish person party next to us was still waiting for their drinks, and that mine would be delivered soon.
Y'all, there were six people sitting at that bar downstairs, and apparently enough time to be had for their bartenders to be making casual conversation with their guests.
Five minutes after being told to wait still, our original waitress returns to tell us the kitchen can't make the salad.
We just left. It's hilarious that anyone would be using the bar as an excuse in this instance when it seems like there's a total disconnect between server and bartender. Like, other people work in F&B. Y'all weren't busy, don't know why it would have taken 20 minutes to pour a tapped beer.
When I expressed our issues to the senior bartender, a great litmus test for the issues of a restaurant, she looked like she couldn't even care.
Just go to the Coney Island on the corner for beer and food, this...
Read moreI went to loophole about a month ago and they were out of queso, other than that the experience was okay, the drinks were a little watery and it was super slow so I don’t know what the service would have turned into had even 3-4 more tables came in. I’m a server/manager at a restaurant, so I get it, but bad service is bad service.
So, last night, some old friends came into town etc, I’m not here to be dramatic so just the facts. They came into town we wanted to go eat and drink at one place and then settle at a bar, it was genuinely like we couldn’t get out of here. We started by ordering brisket nachos, then 15 minutes later we were told they didn’t have queso, so we cancelled the nachos and order a hummus plate and cheese fries with took 15 minutes each, 5 minutes was spent sitting below the heat lamp. The food was good. Before we had even had to cancel the nachos, we had ordered Margherita pizza and chicken tenders the tenders never reached the table, was not in my check, nothing. Never received them or any word on them. Then they ran out of ranch, the cook was taking frequent small breaks in between orders during the rush. The pizza was pesto sauce cheese and diced tomatoes, super bland. And the tenders as I said never made it. So I tabbed our and was trying to leave just so we could salvage the rest of our night which we did, but the experience was pretty terrible. Management needs to do something, assign two servers, make cuts, hire a new cook or have the current cook take more pride in the food, I live the food and want to go back so I will give it another chance going forward, but I...
