Let’s start with the good: nice restaurant, great service! We were greeted as soon as we walked in by 2 different employees. The atmosphere was pretty relaxed but well decorated. We got our drinks pretty quickly, and the food was prepared and at our table pretty fast too. The meal presentation was par for anyone’s lunch menu, plus they start you off with a cup of egg drop soup, which, unfortunately was the best part of the meal. My friend ordered a beef dish which he said was just ok. I always pick a dish with which to judge a restaurant by, for instance, a Mexican restaurant I typically judge them by their enchiladas, pretty basic dish that any Mexican restaurant should be able to ace. For Thai restaurants, my dish I use as the plumb bob is Pad Thai. I don’t want an enchilada OR a plate of Pad Thai that I could make better myself at home.. unfortunately for this place, their Pad Thai was sub par.. I got it “Thai hot” like I always do, which usually allows for additional flavor, but their Pad Thai was extremely bland.. even the chicken in the dish had no flavor. No tofu, and no bean sprouts either.. the restaurant overall was great, they may just need to invest in...
Read moreMy husband and I went to Thai Square for our first time, on our anniversary tonight. First of all, the atmosphere was comfortable, clean, unique, and cozy. We arrived close to 6 pm and it was pretty crowded, but we were seated immediately and our server came out right away. The service was fantastic! Friendly and efficient. We had our drinks within 3 minutes, our appetizer within 10, and our entrees within 20. It was perfect. And the food! It was very, very good. I had the Eggplant Stir Fry with chicken and it was excellent. The portions were large...enough that I was full and still took half of it home. My husband ordered the Red Chili Stir Fry with Shrimp and he barely finished it all, and loved every bite. The price was outstanding at about $65 before tip for one appetizer, two entrees, and tea (the Peach Tea is incredible!). One more thing: the background music was So Good! 1970s soft rock. Seemed a little odd in a Thai restaurant, but between the variety of customers, the wonderful servers, the superb food, and the eclectic decor, it was perfect. We both absolutely LOVED our experience at this restaurant and would highly recommend it to others. We...
Read moreWhen we were looking for a Denton restaurant for our wedding rehearsal dinner, my fiance (now wife) and I had trouble finding a suitable place. Denton seems to have very few nice options. You could go with Hannah's but that can be a budget-buster. We tried a few other restaurants (they shall remain nameless), but the food was poor or, at least, not worth the price. But happily we tried Thai Square. The food is quite good (and much better than Thai Ocha) and comes at a reasonable price. The management worked with us to plan a suitable dinner for 18 people. I will note, that at times their email communication was a bit slow. But everything worked out. They set aside about a third of their dining room for us, served dishes family style with several options at each table. The service was great, responsive, and they threw in some bonus champagne. The price (which they quoted us ahead of time) was quite reasonable. I would happily recommend the place for a similar event or just for some...
