Here goes my first negative review of a restaurant ever. I had a really bad experience with delivery here.
I always enjoyed their food for a quick cheap option but most recently I ordered and when the delivery guy called I answered and went outside and it sounded like he had pocket dialed me, I kept saying hello and I waited 30 seconds and hung up.
I waited an hour and still he didn't come so I called the restaurant. They said I didn't answer the phone, which I have screenshots of the length of the answered phone call. They said I had to call him myself
I called him and he started yelling that I didn't answer. I said sorry sir but I promise you I did, and I walked outside. He started calling me a liar and yelling and said he would bring it now. I said I don't want cold food, he said too bad... which is weird he could have just thrown it away like I ended up doing.
I called the restaurant and explained and asked if this was normal and what I should do. They said just wait they would figure something out. The put me on hold for 15 minutes and then said they would call me back. The delivery guy showed up.. I said I'm sorry man I really answered your call maybe something was wrong on your end and I showed him the call log. He looked at it for a bit and then got all mad and said some words I didn't understand I just signed for the food and shut the door, not sure what else to do.
I tried the food and it was cold so I threw it away and awaited the restaurants phone call to hear their solution. I waited an hour and a half and nothing so I called again. The lady said the manager "wasn't in" and would call tomorrow, except I thought she was talking to him earlier to discuss what to do... So I listened to my heart and ordered pizza :)
A day passed and no call from the restaurant so I messaged the Eat24 app they do their online ordering through and they managed to get a refund for me. They said the owner was unfriendly and said it seemed like he wouldn't call me himself.
So I guess if you want their food it's pretty tasty go get it at the restaurant as long as you don't have to deal with the delivery guy or the manager because you don't...
Read moreThe food here is pretty run of the mill Chinese fare. It is acceptable, but don't expect any miracles on your plate. Prices for lunch are very reasonable and you get a large portion. My food reached me quickly, which was great for a tight lunch break. Where things really fell apart were service.
The restaurant is laid out so that the dining area is not visible from the main service station. That means waitresses cannot see you unless they walk around the corner. You have no way of requesting your bill, asking a question or having your water refilled without physically getting up to find someone or waiting for a waitress to come around the corner. Now this is not to say that the waitstaff was unfriendly, just not very accessible.
While this didn't pertain to my meal, I wanted to share the experience of the party of 10 seated next to me during my visit. The guests had to pull tables together themselves and had to ask me if it was OK to take part of my table for their party. The staff made no attempt to accommodate them. Once they were seated, it became apparent that the restaurant has no service trays, so ALL items (water, silverware, food) were brought out by hand 2-3 at a time. This meant that it took the better part of 10 minutes for the entire table to receive their entrees once food delivery started. It was a shameful way to treat guests and half the table was left twiddling their thumbs while others were eating.
Would I go back? Yes, but I would request my check once food is delivered and perhaps mention that I may need a water refill after my order is placed. If you don't specifically ask for service, you seemingly don't...
Read moreI live down the street from this place and have tried it just twice in 6 years of living in Cherry Creek, and now I remember why. I decided to try it again tonight because it was one of the only places open, and I felt like a treat, but I could not have been more disappointed. To be clear, Asian food (Chinese, Thai, and Vietnamese, mainly) is my favorite cuisine, and I consider myself quite the foodie, and I rarely write negative reviews, but this has to be said. Yikes! What the heck!? I ordered the Singapore Rice Noodles, which were utterly bland and without one single trace of spice, almost as if the chef completely forgot to cook with any spice whatsoever. Let me be clear. These things were so tasteless that I literally questioned whether I might have contracted COVID today, but my pumpkin spice candles told me otherwise. I also had the wonton soup, which was par, at best, made probably just from frozen factory wontons. Lastly, I had their sad version of green beans, which were nearly as tasteless as the noodles and an insult to my beloved Chinese green beans at places like Fortune Wok or Noodles Express. Honestly, I just don't understand the other ratings here nor why this place is still in business. You can do SO much...
