I decided to stop by one of my favorite coffee joints in the city on my way home from attending the play “The Color Purple.” I needed to change out a $100 bill to pay the babysitter. I am not the type to drink coffee at 5pm, but today I said what the heck. Upon entering the restaurant two ladies one with blue highlights were beginning to close up. I kindly asked the lady with blue highlights if they were still making coffee, she said yes. I asked for an oak milk latte. Before she started making it I asked what flavors of syrup they had. She said condescendingly, “ well what do you like”, my reply was, what do you have? She proceeded to point to the small printed menu near the ceiling. I didn’t even look at it, I said I’ll take carmel. It gets better from here. So after, rushing through making the coffee she sets it on the ledge of the cash register and spills it all over the counter, floor, and my shoes..(lmao). Instead of apologizing, she said “I hope you aren’t a secret shopper.” I kindly walked to the restroom to wipe off my feet. Upon my return I think they were shocked I didn’t storm out. The gal working with her must have felt terrible and embarrassed and asked her what she could do to help. She took over and made the latte as the gal with highlights shamefully walked in to the kitchen, not to return. The gal offered me the coffee free of charge. I told her I wasn’t really here for coffee, as I normally don’t drink it at this hour and all I really wanted was change. She kindly handed me change without charge. I tipped them $5 and went one with my day. These are the types of interactions that prevent me from spending much time in cherry creek. I don’t like being treated as a second class citizen. I know working in the service industry is hard, however you are open for business until the sign says closed! When they go...
Read moreThis restaurant seems to get better each time I go. I've been here a few times for breakfast which were good. Then I had an experience that wasn't so positive. At the time, it seemed like they were having training issues. Some things were forgotten or prepared incorrectly. It was a good thing that the owner of the restaurant reached out to me to try to make things right. I've owned my own businesses in the last 25 years so I know that customer service is number one.
I waited to return in hopes that I would have a different experience I believe the most of the training issues are esolved and the feedback I provided was important to the overall establishment. I'm happy that I was able to give it another try during dinner time. I know that it started off as mostly just a loacal breakfast nook and now the restaurant has expanded to happy hour and dinner. I ordered the Thai curry Salmon which was exquisite and had so many flavors. I think it was an excellent combination of protein, curry and vegetables My friend ordered the roasted chicken with sweet potato and spinach. I tried quite a bit of it and found that it was also prepared delectably.
We both left very pleased with customer service and the delicious meals. It was a lovely evening to dine on the patio watching the moon come in and out of the clouds to the east. Despite being in the middle of Cherry Creek, the restaurant is pretty much located in a quiet location. I think I definitely want to come back during happy hour to try the hors d'oeuvres and...
Read moreI live in the neighborhood of the "Cherry Creek" Olive and Finch. Went there for lunch today with my husband and a friend. It was a beautiful day so we wanted to be outside on the patio. Our friend has MS and it is difficult for her to walk/stand and we needed a table that was under an umbrella. The only table available was not yet cleared off but we sat down there anyway. My husband bussed the dishes and when he saw the waitress he said, we would appreciate her cleaning the table for us and that we had cleared the dishes. She copped an attitude and the table was never wipe down. A different person brought our food and the original waitress snubbed us the rest of the meal. Another thing, we are old (mid 70's) and there are only two choices for reading a menu. On you phone using a QR code then scrolling through the choices or standing in line to read the options on boards inside to a menu on the counter/and on the wall. My husband asked a different waiter if they had paper menus. He said go inside... my husband stood inside for serveral minutes and actually saw the waiter whom he has asked and he did nothing to help get a paper menu. There was no one to ask unless you stand in line for your turn to order at the counter! Come to find out, if there are paper menus.. it is a secret as to where they are and who will help find them. So back to using our phones to try to figure out what to order.... So all in all... the food was adequate, the service stinks (what little there is) and we...
