I called in trying to get some more info about a painting that I have. Mikel Sounded helpful at first, started asking me some questions about the painting, One being, "who is the artist." I replied that I only have a last name on the painting but I do have someone else looking into it to help me figure out what it is. He asked me who the company was that I was working with to make sure that they are a accredited business. I told him I can't remember who the company I am working with is off the top of my head but I told him I will look at my email to find out. He then sounded frustrated and told me that he didn't want to waste my time nor his if i am already talking to someone. The guy MIKE was more interested in who I was speaking to previously about the painting then he was interested in helping me figure out what this painting is. Very helpful until he found out I was working with another company and then all of the sudden I am not worth his time and any more info you have send over by email, Mikel said.

Read moreWas looking to consign or sell to them. Their website wouldn't let me inquire through their "contact" page because it's a poorly built website. Called instead, greeted with a cold, "Saks gallery... no hello or my name is or how may I help you. That is fine and dandy if they'd have been willing to give me at least the time of day. He asked about the artist name and immediately wrote me off. Barely let me finish explaining before saying, "We would not be interested in that." Their website touts an eclectic interest in works from the great masters, to contemporary sculpture. Which is what I have. I asked if they'd even be willing to look at it, and he said no. So based on a 2 sentence explanation he wrote me off. Told me to look for a gallery already selling the artist (wow didn't think of that, pffttt). Who, I'm sure, he had no knowledge of and once again did not give it a moment of thought to look into it. I will INDEED go elsewhere for attentiveness, manners, and general courtesy. Don't bother calling, they don't...
