I do not recommend wasting you time or money staying here. I work in hospitality for 10 years so I am appalled at my experience.
I arrived on July 6th for my cousins wedding. I had exactly 1 hour from check in to make it to the wedding welcome party. I went straight up to my room and unpacked my things and immediately went to shower. To my surprise I found a massive leak coming from the roof. (2 other wedding guest had pluming issues in their room) I call the front desk to explain the situation and they put me on a 30 minute hold. As I’m waiting I hear a knock on the door and it’s an employee with new room keys. So I guess instead of communicating to me what their plan of action was, they were going to just have me waiting on the phone wondering what’s happening. By the time I repacked everything up and moved rooms the party has begun, and by the time I was ready to get there dinner was over… that was the first disappointment.
My main issue was my card had unauthorized charges on it and it took a MONTH for them to correct their mistake which has caused many further problems for me personally.
I gave them my card for incidentals.
My room was being paid for by my family.
My card along with MANY other peoples cards were charged when they were not supposed to. It was brought to the front desk attention the day of check out. The hotel moved forward and charged my family’s card but did not give me a refund. So there was a double charge on two separate cards for the same room? I tried disputing the charges with the bank, who sent me a letter requesting a receipt stating the room was paid for by my family’s card. On July 26 I call the front desk, I received an incompetent dismissive women on the other end of the phone. I first requested to speak to a manager, which she denied… Absolutely not ok but I gave her the benefit of the doubt hoping she can help me with this mess. I explained the situation to her and she kept sending me in circles with her responses. She couldn’t comprehend that my room was charged on both my personal card and my families card. She sends me an email to “fix” the transaction. She said they can refund me the $1200 when they charge the other card. THE OTHER CARD HAS ALREADY BEEN CHARGED! I don’t understand why it was so complicated. I eventually gave up dealing with this halcyon employee, I hung up and called my family to ask for them to help me deal with this issue.
Finally with the help of a family member, I received a refund, that will take another 4 business days to process.
Along with the disappointing staff, I noticed on my hotel receipt there was room service charges. I absolutely did not receive room service and they can check the camera to verify that. Every-time I went to the restaurant I would put another card down or cash so how my room was charged twice for a restaurant is beyond me. At this point I am so exhausted dealing with this hotel we’re just taking the L on the “room service” charges.
Happy this mess is over but very disappointed in this hotel. 10/10 DO...
Read moreThis place is nice, but it does have its issues like any other high end hotel, the rooms are a bit small but you can make do, the bathrooms are designed nicely and are stylish but it has some weird things that I didn't care for such as the toilet flush handle, you have turn it up and back with is weird because you usually just need to push it down, having to do it backwards hurt my hand because I have carpal tunnel but I didn't really blame the hotel for that, I just found it odd, the shower has two heads but you can only use one at a time, the only problem with that is that if you push the button in to use the overhead shower you can't just switch back to the handle without turning off the water to release the pressure on the button for it to come back out. There is no microwave in the room so don't plan on heating up any leftover meals or anything for that matter. The walls are paper thin and you will hear everything in the hallways and from the immediate rooms that are adjacent, this made it difficult for me to study. If the hallways are quiet then you will hear ALL of the street traffic, there were some trucks that were offloading from 6:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and all you hear is the trucks engines and exhaust, imagine the sound of a garbage truck all day long!!! It was annoying. If it were not for all of the traffic noise I would give 5 stars for the location, this hotel is in a prime spot, there are many stores and restaurants at walking distance, I couldn't spend my time shopping to get away from the truck noise because it was cold (18°F). There are water stations in the hallways near the elevators which is nice, you can fill up a large jar of cold or hot water anytime at no charge, the only problem was that there were no instructions so you have to list figure it out, there is a coffee machine in the room but it sounded like it was dying, extremely loud, I actually think that mine was broken, but I didn't bother since Starbucks is right across the street. The views from the room were horrible, I opened my curtains and was faced with some guy sitting in his office working, I could see everything on his monitors, so we just pulled the shade down and kept it closed. Now the roof top views were a whole other story, it's Colorado so mountains in the distance are just a beautiful sight to see, but again it was too cold to hang out up there. We were here for a conference so I'm not sure we would return here just for leisure, the parking is $60 per night so if you don't need a car then I suggest you catch an Uber or Lyft to get you there. The valet and front desk were kind and always greeted me as I came in and out of...

Chose Halcyon for my birthday staycation with friends so we could relax. I have a very high pressure career, so I wanted to treat myself to recharge. We had a less than decent experience. We booked for an early check-in, even called to double-check that they had the room ready for us before arriving. The lady on the phone was very rude for no reason, it was a simple question and she acted like we were stupid for asking. It put me off that this was the first person I had contact with associated with the Halcyon before our stay. I asked who I was speaking to and she would not give me her name. My career requires a lot of customer service skills and I would never talk to anyone the way I was spoken to, especially since I wasn't trying to argue, I just wanted to know if our room would be ready on arrival! Eventually, she said we could come. When we arrived, our room was in fact not ready, we had to wait an additional two hours. They added a $50 credit to our room for the inconvenience. Great! But we never ended up using it for anything extra. When we ordered room service, it never came. We also tried to use it for our tea time experience (Alex at Local Jones was the only highlight of our stay, he provided great customer service) as suggested by the front desk ladies, but we couldn't because well, we weren't able to get checked-in yet. They also did not have tickets for the Botanical Gardens as outlined but by the time we got checked-in, the gardens were closed anyways. We had the Terrace Room for the day and I wouldn't try it again. The terrace was sort of a joke... very dirty outdoor furniture, umbrella would not open, view of a parking garage, view and smell of the wet garbage. Room was okay - chose this hotel because it's newer, hoping it'd be cleaner. It wasn't - pillow sheets had yellow stains, random stains on furniture in the room. Overall very mediocre room and service for a 4 star hotel. I wouldn't stay here again. If you want a nice hotel experience where you feel very taken care of, I would recommend to stay at your next choice. I would have probably had a similar experience at a cheaper hotel. The location, of course, was great and very walkable. We tried to maintain a positive attitude despite the inconveniences during our arrival. I don't like to leave negative reviews unless it's to potentially help someone else make a better...
