Unfriendly and strange hosts. I put my name down on the waitlist and was told it would be a 25 minute wait. There were two young women standing there, one looked like a teen with brown hair and acne and the other was a blonde girl. While the brunette put my name down on the list, the blonde stood there drying a cup and stared at me oddly the entire time. I should have known that this place was going to be a bad experience. About 45 minutes went by and I went to check my place in line, to which I was told I was third in line and it shouldn’t be much longer of a wait. Well, 20 more minutes go by and I finally go and check again because at this point I had been waiting for well over an hour and there were MULTIPLE people leaving. When I go in, there is an older woman up at the desk along with the two younger ones. I ask this woman where I’m at on the waitlist and she spends moments looking for my name that isn’t there. The two girls stood there as if they had never seen me in my life. Why not speak up? I think they enjoyed wasting my time. The older woman treated me with an attitude as well, as if I was a total inconvenience. Truly so weird. There are plenty of other brunch restaurants nearby - I recommend...
Read moreA few weeks ago me and a work partner entered Urban Egg Cherry Creek North after just getting into town for a business trip. Immediately upon entering, the customer service and the vibe toward me and my work partner was off. I am not sure if this was because of our race (being African Americans) but it was as if they didn't appear to serve certain races. Once we put our name on the list (about a 15 min wait) we went to sit on a bench that was open, that appeared to be for people waiting to be seated. Once seated at the bench, the receptionist comes up by the name of Kathryn who was also assisted by a gentlemen with long hair and tells me and my work partner that per her managers request we must "wait in the hallway"..... when no one else was waiting in the hallway. Quite Frankly, there were actually two individuals (of a different race) waiting in front of us that weren't told anything....
This places customer service is totally unforgettable and I would not recommend this place at all. Very racist towards certain ethnic groups and inappropriate customer service. The front desk lady , if I remember her name being Kathryn, is very rude and not professional..
I DO NOT...
Read moreWhat I liked: Great atmosphere/environment, loved that there was a mix of regular seating, bar seating, and community seating. Food was delicious - very thoughtful in the recipes used. The “drink your vitamins” beverages are entirely worth it!
What I didn’t like so much: We felt forgotten by our server (she was more focused on other customers), there were other groups who came after us who got their food first (not sure if this was related to our server or not), we felt rushed to leave too. Host also told us that we couldn’t get a regular table (although there were plenty open) - it would be at least 30 minutes, or we could sit in the community seating area (which was entirely fine, just odd that we couldn’t get a table unless it was community seating). Saw everybody be very friendly with people I could only assume were regulars, but we didn’t get that same level of service, unfortunately.
I should add… the eggs on my benedict were a bit over-poached and the waffle (part of the benedict I ordered) for some reason was VERY sweet. Still entirely delicious,...
