If youāre looking for a great spot for authentic Mediterranean (Lebanese/Persian) cuisine, Amira Grill is an excellent choice that is sure to satisfy your cravings.
My family is Assyrian, and I am always hard pressed to find well-done Mediterranean and Persian food that is as good as my grandmotherās cooking. This restaurant is the closest Iāve come to meeting that standard in the Denver metro area.
Menu options include all the typical, traditional items you would expect to see at an authentic Mediterranean grill. I ordered my favorite, a simple classic, the chicken kebab plate. The chicken was tender and juicy, and lightly seasoned. The veggies were also grilled to perfection, including bite-sized cuts of green pepper and onion. The rice was soft and lightly buttery, cooked well.
I love when they also include a grilled tomato, which they do here. But no other Mediterranean restaurants seem to do this for some reason. It speaks to their authenticity in crafting their meals and their menu, as little as it sounds, it has an impact and is often a missing component of a kebab plate.
Quality of the food and ingredients, portion sizes, and pricing is all a great value in my opinion. The food tastes above average to me, as in it tastes like theyāre using the proper seasonings and spices and cooking techniques that a traditional Mediterranean restaurant should be. Itās not an āAmericanizedā or āfusionā take on this kind of cuisine, which is what Iāve more commonly experienced at many others Iāve tried in Colorado.
The decor and atmosphere is also a wonderful step into another culture, which is rich with middle eastern vibes, music, and colors, that I am all for when dining in a restaurant like this. It is clean in all ways youād want a restaurant to be - but the aesthetic and seating and everything isnāt sterile and boring. As many restaurants can be. Although the interior is different than any other restaurant Iāve been in, itās a refreshing kind of different - and comfortable and cozy and warm in energy.
Highly recommend and will be going...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreāYou keep using that word, ācustomer serviceā. I do not think it means what you think it means.ā Iād like to start by stating that my husband and I both like Amiraās food. Weāve lived in a number of places, and have a good feel for Lebanese food- Amiraās is certainly better than many other places weāve eaten at. That having been said, the manner in which the staff interacts with the patrons is an outright embarrassment. Today we were in the area and made a phone order for pick-up. The woman on the other end taking the order displayed no cordiality whatsoever, first not knowing which menu item I asked for and then hanging up without letting us know the total price- or even saying āthanksā or āgoodbyeā. When we got to the restaurant we were charged extra for sauce- when previously weād never been asked to pay extra. Upon paying, we werenāt even offered a pen for which to sign the receipt with, and given a horrible attitude along with the food when it finally arrived. Reviews by other patrons show that this behavior seems to be the norm, as opposed to the exception. The food is indeed better than many other Middle Eastern fast-service restaurants in the area, but the service unfortunately is...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI try not to buy H20 in plastic bottles so I asked for a glass of water, but the waitress said they didn't have any.... My friend ordered a Greek salad and asked how large it was. The woman responded, indicating with her hands that it would be on a platter about 15". When it arrived it was in a bowl half that size, with a little shredded white cheese and canned sliced black olives on top. My friend said the dressing was terrible and called the waitress over, saying that it wasn't a Greek salad. The waitress insisted that it was. I pointed out that there were no kalamata olives nor feta cheese as printed on the menu. She removed the salad and my friend ordered chicken kebab. It was just okay and not worth the price. When paying the bill, the total showed up on the screen to add a tip. When handed the receipt, it also included a hospitality fee that was not divulged beforehand. So we actually paid extra to be treated inhospitably. DON'T EAT HERE!
