We were having a bit of a rough day and we were hungry. Suddenly my husband says he has a craving for gyros. We did a google search and a few restaurants came up, Casablanca was one of them. Just by looking at the photos we decided to try it. And thank goodness we did! Everything was amazing.
We were welcomed right away. Everything was clean and there was soft middle eastern music playing. Right away the service was amazing.
My husband had a beef shawarma sandwich and I had the Gyros sandwich. Both were amazing. He took a bite of mine, I took a bit of his. Everything was well seasoned, warm and fresh. The meats were tender and flavorful. The pita was soft. The sauces were a really nice compliment to it. It was exactly what we were looking for. We also tried Falafel for the first time and it's one of the best things I've ever eaten in my life.
I realized they also sold backlava. It had been years since I've had baklava so we had to have it. It was all things good you expect from a baklava. Sweet. Nutty. Crispy and goey at the same time. Baked to perfection.
I also want to add that we are Puerto Ricans living in Colorado. Is very hard for us to find flavors that makes us feel like at home. Mediterranean food and Puerto Rican food are very different flavors. However, we felt right at home from the first bite. There's something in it that makes you feel like right at home, like someone cooked this with their soul and cooking for their own family. You know it when all the flavors hit in all the right places.
I honestly think more people should come here! We will definitely back. Especially for...

And once again, the owners have upped their game!
I'd previously mentioned that the place could use a bit more atmosphere, well, they have done quite a bit to make the restaurant more comfortable, interesting, and elegant.
The traditional seating along the walls is very comfortable and beautifully upholstered. There are tablecloths and glass tops, and new window dressings and a fresh coat of paint on the walls. The colour is much softer, and the ambience a lot more welcoming and calming.
There was traditional music playing throughout the meal, played at just the right level so that we could still enjoy our conversation but it lent a liveliness to the room.
Our serer was very sweet, polite, and checked on us regularly to ensure we were happy. She provided excellent, friendly and engaged service, and did everything she could to ensure we enjoyed our dinner.
We will certainly be back more often. The food is, of course, delicious and lovingly prepared.

Read moreThe service is completely non-existent. You walk in and seat yourself, wait 15 minutes for someone to greet you. He came over and just stood at the table without saying a word. He brought half of my friends meal first and she ate it while we waited for entrees but didn't communicate that it was to be eaten with her Meal (very bizarre). Waiter never ever came back after dropping entrees... Like at all. No refills or asking how good was. Not a single staff was to be found throughout the entire experience. It took us going to the back to ask to pay. After waiting 20 minutes post meal.. Could have easily walked out but didn't. Then after finally getting the attention of a staff member, he couldn't figure out how to split our bill or give correct change. Seriously we had to tell him what our change was and told him the experience was bad and he admitted they were not busy. We were the only table in this restaurant. The food was just ok but the entire service experience was appalling. I absolutely would not recommend this place.. So unimpressed. Go to Jerusalem or yaffas for better cuisine...
