I went in for takeout around noon on a Tuesday. I told the guy working that I didn’t know what to get because everything sounded amazing. He suggested I get the Taste of Venezuela that came with an empanada, arepa, tequenos, cachapas, and sweet plantains. It was a ton of food for the price, 2 hearty meals for me. The empanada (I got beef and potato) was incredible. A little on the greasy side but still probably the best empanada I’ve ever had. The arepa (carnitas) was also absolutely delicious. The tequenos were alright, I think they’d be better for dining in rather than take out. I didn’t love the cachapas at first but they really grew on me. And the fried plantains were amazing (not usually something I like a whole lot). They did not skimp on the cheese at all and everything came throughly cheesed up just how I like it!
It took under 10 minutes for them to prepare my order and the guy working was super nice and friendly. Will absolutely be...
Read moreI would not recommend this place. It was so overpriced for what you get. I got a single empanada with rice and beans..the rice was literally the cheapest pre-made rice and canned black beans with a small empanada that maybe had one ounce of meet for $15.The shredded beef was like greasy straw. My mom got a quesadilla with chicken and it was terrible it had yellow straw looking chicken mixed with some kind of cheese sauce or something. You could not even differentiate the cheese from the meat, it was just yellow mush. Also we were the only customers there and the food was still not hot. I don't mind paying for something good but this was not it. The waitress was nice and the little place was ok.
People seem to get fooled by the fact that they think it is chic to eat ethnic food, but this was a pathetic excuse for good...
Read moreAs a Venezuelan I was craving comfort food after spending 3 days in Yellowstone park. This is not Venezuelan food, I should have known when the waiter told me they didn’t have yellow cheese for my mechada. We ended up ordering reina pepiadas and tequeños for my 6 year old who loves it. The tequeños were some dough with expired cheese, smelled terrible in a strange form that it’s just an insult to its name. The reina pepiadas tasted like tuna salad with two dots of avocado. Do not call yourself a Venezuelan restaurant. This is just a Mexican place with a rendition of Venezuelan food. I would have eaten better there if the food was Mexican I’m sure. The papelon drink was great and service ok just to be objective. You destroyed my...
