FlyteCo Tower — Restaurant in Denver

I'm excited to have a dining option in CP. It's close and fun. The atmosphere is cool. The beer is great, and I love the Wonton Pickles. However, where it lacks is the actual presence of servers, and the food isn't spectacular, just average. We sat ourselves, and I saw someone else's review that mentioned they were given the option of a server, we were not. So we sat ourselves, which is fine. We looked over the menu and had fully ordered our food and drinks through the app. Which we did order alcohol, and our IDs were checked after the fact. We were probably there about 15 minutes before we were greeted by a server and before we were even brought water - this is the part that I do mind.

Once our food came out, again, it was average. (The Wonton Pickles are amazing though). My husband's burger bun was soggy, the Dino nuggets for my son were WELL done. Then my fish & chips were good until I found a bone. The coleslaw that came with it was a bit ridiculous. I wish I'd taken a picture, it was a very small serving probably about the size of the ramekin my tartar sauce came in. Which I'm not unreasonable about the fish. Finding a bone, it happens sometimes. However, it wasn't just 1 bone. It was FIVE bones. Thank goodness I wasn't sharing with my 3 yr old son who loves fish & chips. To most, it may not be a big deal, but my son was literally hospitalized once for a single fish bone in mashed salmon 2 yrs ago. It was a traumatizing experience, and so coming across 5! I'll never order that here again, it just says to me cheap fish.

Then trying to leave, again our server was nowhere to be seen. Well, actually she was across the restaurant near enough the whole night. We saw more of the other server from the tables around us. Trying to just get a box to go and pay took forever. I was a bit stressed at this point as I had 2 anxious & tired kids to get back home so I wasn't timing it, but we waited what felt like forever. Just to get out of there I went out to the car to get the kids in and my husband stayed behind to wait and pay. This was also on a Wednesday night as well. I understand more and more places are understaffed these days but it would be nice that if this was the case for the lack of service, we are at least forewarned by some sort of signage or by the hostess/server.

Unless they completely change the fish, do not order the fish & chips. If I come back, it will be for the Wonton...

BLUF: Highly recommended! Excellent food, friendly staff, and a can't miss tour up the control tower! Great for families and for just hanging out.

Having moved to NoCO in the late 80s, Stapleton was the airport I used and when I saw a restaurant/bar was at the site of the old control tower, I knew I had to give it a try. I expected a basic commercial bar and grill set in a nostalgic setting of an airport. What I experienced was so much more!

The venue is situated on the three lower floors of the Stapleton control tower but has been updated with lots to keep you entertained! Mini golf, bowling, axe throwing, darts, and legit arcade games including an original Asteroids machine. Lots of seating with spaces that can accommodate gatherings of varying sizes including outdoor seating on all levels. It's a great place to hang out or to entertain the kids while you enjoy a cold beverage.

With such a great venue, you might think a place like this can get away with mediocre food and service but everything was top notch! The Flute burger with house made brown mustard was delicious and the lemon vingrette dressing on the salad was very tasty! The menu also has several MOCKTAILS in addition to their array of beers and other drinks. Everyone on the staff was so very nice and accommodating!

The highlight of our visit was the tour up to the Stapleton control tower. While you need to walk up 11 stories, our tour guide Sean would stop at each level where photos of the airport hung on the walls with Sean providing interesting commentary and stories. We were never winded on our trek up and so interested in the history. Having lived in the Denver area when Stapleton was an active airport, this tour brought back memories and a greater appreciation for how the world of aviation has progressed! Sean also runs sunrise and sunset tours up the tower which we are planning on trying.

And a call out to anyone with aviation memorabilia of the old airport as the tower is becoming a museum. Donations or loans...

So me and my good buddy went on a tour at First of the Old Air traffic control tower the tour was amazing and the tour guide was Awesome would definitely recommend doing the tour.

So then we went and tried the Restaurant on the first floor. We had Tim as are Server he was definitely off and was kinda awkward and confusing on some of the questions we had on the menu. So we went order food and they said we need to pre Auth my card and I did not think anything much of it. So we do that get the food order. About 10 minutes later my buddy’s pizza comes out and there is still no sign of my sandwich so we finally get a new waiter to come over to are table after Tim Decided to Ignore us for no reason. And I explain to the waiter that my buddy had Gotten his food about 10 to 15 minutes ago and no one still had checked in on us and if he could check in on my Sandwich so he comes back and asks what my name was I give it to him and he said you are not in are system and I say ok Tim was are waiter I would go ask him. So he goses and talks to Tim and all he comes back with is still what’s your name and I say it agin and he says yoy are not in are system. And I say ok I pre Authorized my Card to Oder food and he said oh so you got the text and you were supposed to log in through the text message and I said ok that never got explained to us all he told us was that we do that to make sure if people walk out we can charge them. So I asked agin about my Sandwich and he said oh since yoy did not sign in thought the text message it did not go through but my buddy’s food came out and are mixed drinks came out and it was all on my card. Then I asked agin why it did not go through and I I got was you did not sign in so you won’t get your food but everything els. And I probably won’t return for the food - Fun because it just seems like so...
