Gorditas las 5 Estrellas — Restaurant in Denver

Came in today, August 5th, to buy 6 gorditas, one torta, and 4 drinks. Sadly, two of the "gorditas" had a "piece of hair" in them. I approached the young lady taking the orders very quietly so that the clientele there didn't hear my complaint and she turned around and mentioned the situation to the kitchen staff. Another young lady came out and spoke to me about it in a very nice way and asked what I wanted to have done, I said, "Can you please refund me the money for those two food items'? My 10-year-old son does not want to eat again, and she agreed. The young gal taking the orders came back to assist, and I asked if she needed my debit card and noticed then how her attitude completely changed she totally ignored my question and seemed very upset. She got cash and, with a nasty look on her face, set the money on the counter, very despreciatived for me to take. Well, I am so sorry that this happened. I've been coming here to eat for years and never had to deal with something like this. I honestly dislike her attitude and decided to tell her that I was gonna leave the money for her to keep. It was not my intention to upset anyone there. Their staff just need to be more careful when preparing and cooking their food and need to have better people helping customers.

Would definitely not recommend this place ever again. It seems they're been very careless, and people there working have no customer...

I ordered their smothered burrito for $15. The burrito came and it was just a tortilla with meat inside.. ? The lady asked me if I wanted lettuce and tomato (inside i assumed?) No rice? No Beans? No Pico de gallo? Surely the burrito comes with SOMETHING inside other than meat? "We can bring it to you on side x2" ... no .... "Well if we make you a new one, then you will have to wait." .... ? Obviously I would have to wait if you make a new one. What a condescending and rude way to handle the situation. Advice: "You know what, we made this wrong / we didn't confirm what you wanted inside, and we're going to get a new one out to ASAP, sorry about that." Horrible customer service. Hole in the wall with a cute menu...

This place has really good food but I'm not sure if that can overcome the negative aspects. The restaurant looks like the couldn't decide which direction to go. There are many dining tables but a dive bar in one corner and a random pool table in the middle. When you walk in you don't know if you're going to be seated or pick a spot on your own. The gorditas are wonderful, the flour is way better than the corn. The Asada fries are outstanding. Fries hold their own and don't get soggy. No fountain drinks. Cans or bottles.
