My daughter and her family came for an early Christmas. They are from Midland and do not have a lot of food Mexican food options. So we as a whole family went here for dinner. There were 15 of us quite the group. Then the nightmare began. Apparently kids can’t order or ask for drinks cause the will be ignored (not babies) Then if you ask for no onions your getting anyway. Most of my family can pick off but one of them can not stand them that much. She sent it back, there was a hole in the enchilada from where she took a bite out and noticed onions on her fork. They took it back and that same plate less onions with more cheese came out (yuck). The food was all a 5 or less in my opinion and Mexican is my FAVORITE food. My daughter from Texas wanted to help pay as her family is 7 of the group. She gave her card and it declined. The guy who claimed to be the owner started treating her like trash saying if she so poor she should feed her kids at home. She just needed to call bank. I had given him my card for half already but as he was yelling at us and treating my daughter like trash I said just run it all on my card. He then asked me if I was sure I could afford to be out to eat. Wow! My daughter had not told wellsfargo she was traveling and as he was running for full amount well over 150 even though we said 75, they were protecting her by declining. Had he waited two seconds he would have known that and my daughter would not have to been upset the way he did. Words exchanged he yelled he threatened to call cops if I didn’t leave but still had my card. So I had to point out he still had it. So not real good food bad employees and if is truly the owner I fill management is horrible to. This is all based on my opinion of how my visit here went. I just feel for 178 dollars we did not deserve the way we were treated and bringing a plate you touched back is not ok. It was the weekend before Christmas and I did get something for all that money, a lesson learned be careful when...
Read moreMe and my family have been coming here for years, this was definitely our favorite restaurant. My family recent called and told the person answering we had a party of 20 people that would like to eat there they simple they would write everything down and make sure we call 20 minutes before we were going to eat. The next day we did as instructed and when we got to Torres the hostess had no idea we were coming after watching these people run around for about 20-30 monutes to get everything ready we were finally able to sit. We all ordered our drinks and food. The server forgot to get orders for half of our table and we had to chase him down so my party can finish ordering. When reciving the food one of our plates had a hair in it! I will admit the server was very apologetic and went to get a new plate.. however after the service we received the rest of the night i wouldnt be surprised if they just put it in a warmer for a few minutes and brought it back out. Then i noticed in my jumbo margarita that we all know and love had a bug in it! Well thats gross.. we brought it to the attention of the person running the front counter (our server was helping another party) they informed me they would not do anything for having a bug in my drink and i didnt have to drink it if i dont want to... im sorry this is a 15$ drink and your not going to write your wrong? After this we all asked for our check to end what was supposed to be a celebration. To see on our check we were getting charged for things we never ordered, again we brought it up with the front desk and after an argument they finally took off the items that we DID...
Read moreWe just got done with dinner, and I thought I'd better post about our experience. The best I can say about this restaurant is it appeared clean, and the atmosphere was nice.
We went to this restaurant for my sons' school fundraiser, and saw multiple other school families there. Based on our observations, other families seemed to be doing ok, but our service was abysmal. We were seated and immediately given chips and salsa. The menu says the chips were house made, but were cold. Waited about 20 minutes for someone to come by to take our drink order. Eventually, my wife flagged a waitress down, who seemed surprised that she needed to help us. Based on how the staff was acting, it seemed like we were an afterthought on everyone's mind. Then we received the check from a totally new person, and he was listed as the server (Carlos). I have no idea if he was late, and others were covering for him (terribly) or what.
The food was bland. I ordered the fajitas ($18), and while they were ok, I didn't think they were worth the $18. Other restaurants charge $12 for the same thing. My wife is a vegetarian, and told me the way the beans tasted, she's guessing they weren't vegetarian beans. The beans were runny, guacamole looked like it came out of a can. And none of us ate the entire meal.
To get our check, we had to flag someone down again, as our table was once again being complete ignored.
We will never eat at that...
