My experience eating Pho has to this point been pretty standard. I am consistently blown away by the depth of flavors in the broth and enjoy the contrast that fresh herbs and jalapeno brings to the dish.
With respect to where I eat it, I feel like there are the customers versus a family intensely interacting in a small area of the restaurant or back in the kitchen. I often get the feeling like I may be interrupting the staff by wanting to place an order. Typically, your food gets brought to your table and you will not be tended to again until it is time to get your check.
Then, I went to Pho 95. I was alone so I sat at the bar. Khoi happened to be behind the bar and greeted me warmly. I noticed that patrons coming in and out of the restaurant would stop and hold conversations with him as they passed. He knew something about all of them and I enjoyed seeing these interactions that were beyond surface banter.
I liked my experience so much, I went back the next evening. Khoi remembered me immediately and I witnessed the same type of interactions with a different set of patrons.
I ended up getting chatted up by a regular at the bar and the three of us talked until well after closing.
In summary, I discovered for myself a place that gives off a vibe like Cheers. Cozy, intimate and everyone knows your name. Just as important, the food was excellent both nights with prompt service and a level of plate presentation that was above average.
I will continue to enjoy pho regularly but I will be hard pressed to match the experience I had at this gem. I look forward to returning the next time I...
Read moreBefore I go on, I usually dont gripe or leave any type of review about 1 bad experience or if an establishment is having a bad day, but I'm flabbergasted to say the least. When we arrived, the waiter will sit you where its comfortable for them to maximize the revenue of their business, not the liking of their customer. They wouldn't let us sit where we wanted to when there was an open table. Then, the waiter who brought water for us didnt seem to care when he practically dumped the water on our table. The outside of the cups were dripping wet from overpouring when he bumped into me the water spilled onto my arm and he didn't even notice! (What a douche!) My friend got irritated and wanted to speak upon this but I stopped him. They finally took our order and 30 mins passed by and we didn't see our food. We noticed a table of 4 people who were seated after us and ordered after us got their food before us. (We had a table of 2) That was enough for my friend and I, so I told the waiter to cancel our order and we left due to the horrible customer service. Pho is not supposed to this difficult and this place is basic and over rated. This experience was horrible due to customer service no matter how good the food tastes. It's apparent customer satisfaction is not a concern to the proprietors of this establishment from our visit today 11/12/17, and by reading the other reviews. I would rate a zero star if possible. Or an F minus minus. Lol This place thinks they're "too hot to trot". Lol. Not coming back and will advise my friends and family to do the same. Thanks for reading.

Read morePho 95 has been my husband and My favorite Pho joint for years and I’m finally getting around to leaving a review. We went yesterday with some friends and our kids (it’s child friendly). We tried the bubble teas which were pretty good even though they’re all from mixes not fresh fruit except the strawberry and avocado. My husband and I split the chicken bahn mi and a pork noodle bowl. The bahn mi was okay, nothing to write home about, but the noodle bowl was, as always, outstanding. I love the flavors of the grilled marinaded pork and the crisp veggies! (The grilled shrimp and lemongrass noodle bowl is my absolute favorite thing on their menu, but my husband wasn’t feeling shrimpy so we got the pork, which is my second favorite.) Although we didn’t get pho yesterday, the #12 with marinated rare steak is our favorite. We usually call in ahead for it and take it home, especially when we’re feeling under the weather. It tastes like health in the best possible way- I can always feel myself getting stronger as I eat. They also do an amazing job of providing lots of yummy things to add to the pho- mint, Thai basil, and sauces! Finally, there ended up being a dragon dance at the restaurant yesterday for Lunar New Year 🧧 which was an awesome surprise. One of the staff members told us that they have them throughout the year and you can find out when they’re scheduled by following them on FB...
