The closest you'll get to Willy Wonka's factory, but for ice cream!
The Inventing Room offers so many fantastical and delicious creations. From the unicorn tart to custom sundaes with magic chocolate to the "Harry Potter Tastings," there is something magical for everyone.
Upon entering you get that "little kid in a candy shop" kinda feel. There are unique and fun decorations along the wall, everyone is eating ice cream that looks amazing, and the woman at the register is preparing complimentary popcorn dipped in liquid nitrogen.
You can either choose from a creation already on the menu or build your own. I ordered the unicorn tart after a period of long indecisiveness, while my husband ordered a build your own Colorado honey ice cream sundae with magic chocolate, exploding whipped cream, and burnt marshmallow. At the other end of the counter, we got to watch our creations being made, which was also fun.
Now on to the ice cream... the texture of liquid nitrogen ice cream is great and creamy, with an added benefit that it takes longer to melt. The unicorn tart comes with galaxy ice cream which is blueberry with glitter on top. Although the presentation was beautiful and photogenic, I wasn't a fan of the huge chunk of cotton candy. The tart was also just so-so. The ice cream was definitely the best part. My husband's custom creation, on the other hand, was so delicious! He loved the ice cream and the exploding whipped cream.
Checking out Inventing Room for yourself is worthy of the unique experience. Beautiful presentations and delicious ice cream, I definitely look forward to trying something...
Read moreWe booked a private event for our kids' birthdays. It was not what we expected. The food itself was fine, not great and the hostess was just unfriendly. She seemed put out that there were kids. She griped at the kids so much to stay against the wall when they would move an inch away. I asked her politely to move hand sanitizer because a child was struggling to see and she immediately got defensive and said there was nothing TO see and made it seem like that request was incredibly out of line.
She actually seemed like she hated her job and made it very uncomfortable for us to be there.
She also yelled at my daughter (the birthday girl) because she reached for a second piece of something (we paid for 15 ppl and only 12 were there so not sure why she couldn't have a second piece). Then she threw the extra pieces in the trash.
She proceeded to yell at two more kids for things that didn't affect her or the store at all. Once was because a child was looking at my son's sucker and she admonished him that it was JUST for birthday people).
I honestly think the good reviews are because they give free skittles for a 5 star review. What a disappointment.
*apparently they will give skittles for any review you show them but who takes the time to write an honest critical review and then show them while...
Read moreI recently came here with my parents for my birthday and I truly can not recommend it enough! The food was fabulous, Nicole (the chef) was so friendly and helpful, and the decor was out of this world!
I don’t want to spoil too much so this will be a bit of a short review but I truly loved this experience, all the food was amazing and I appreciated that Nicole asked multiple times if anyone had any allergies. The decor was very Willy Wonka, space, steam punk vibes which I loved and suited the place perfectly.
I have to admit going into this I was worried that I was going to be greeted by some kinda creepy dude in a Willy Wonka costume and act like a bad escape room, but I was beyond pleasantly surprised that Nicole was a very cool woman who took more to the science side of the experience. She explained everything in detail and I found it absolutely fascinating how the nitrogen worked with the different textures of food to create even more interesting flavors and textures. She also gave me a little extra treat when she found out it was my birthday which was very generous of her!
I 100% recommend the inventing room to anyone of any age who loves science and food, and I say that as a very picky eater with not a big sweet tooth who enjoyed absolutely everything there...
