As a native New Mexican, I was excited to hear that there was a new New Mexican restaurant opening in Denver, but my experiences the two times that I have attempted to try the food at Middleman Bar have been more than frustrating. My first visit started well enough, walked in, took a seat at the bar, was greeted promptly, and ordered a beer. A few minutes later, we ordered some food from the bartender. We waited patiently for over 30 minutes for our food to arrive, and when we asked the other bartender where our food was, he checked the computer and told us that the bartender that took the order never put it in. Where was the bartender that we ordered with at this point? At a corner table, eating his food that he remembered to put in for himself. We left very frustrated that this place could not even get the basics of putting a customer order into the system. Not a good start. Second visit started poorly right off the bat as we decided to call in an order for takeout. Ring ring ring, no answer. Ring ring ring, no answer. We drive over since no one is picking up the phone, kitchen is closed on Sundays and the one bartender that is working, when asked why no one picked up our calls, rudely exclaims "I'm the only one working. Sorry. Oh and I don't even know where the phone is." Unbelievable. I really want to try the food here, but there is only so much incompetence one can take before throwing up their hands and never returning. Middleman Bar, please reach out to me and convince me to come back and give you a third chance. That would go a long way to getting a...
Read moreMiddleman has really solid food, and the cocktails are very unique and of great quality. There’s also options for cheap beer, which is a very nice touch. I’ve been here a few times, and have recieved fairly okay service, but the most recent time, pretty much non-existent service. It was not busy either, the bartenders were talking to each other looking at a phone, and occasionally hitting their vape. I sat patiently, but it took 20 minutes to be acknowledged, even sitting in the middle bar seat with only 3 or 4 other bar patrons. After ordering my drink, it still took another 10 minutes to recieve it. No, the bartender wasnt slammed, they got distracted, took another order, made that drink, then made mine. I hope the management here makes a point to have the bartenders take some more pride in their work, because this could be a top tier spot in Denver. I will try again! I’m only leaving this review because I want this place to be a go-to spot, and I recommend it to people all the...
Read moreMiddleman, a cocktail bar conveniently located near the Bluebird Theater, offered a delightful and efficient pre-show dining experience. The bar service, provided by multiple friendly staff members, was both attentive and quick!
During our recent visit, last Saturday, we were able to check out Misfit Snack Bar, which was featuring a special menu with a passed hors DimSum offering $5 per bite food items. We sampled and shared the French Kiss Tartine, Jamaican Beef Toasted Ravioli, Sweet Potato Fondant, and Nashville Hot Roulade and the My Fu**ing Slider. We found the Jamaican Beef Ravioli, the French Kiss Tartine, and the Slider to be exceptional standouts!
The cocktail menu was equally impressive, featuring well-crafted and flavorful drinks. It was a great place to get in and out of pretty quick before heading over to our show. The only thing I wasn't a huge fan of was the $5 cover charge, since we weren't there for the rest of the event and only stopped in for...
