Absolutely phenomenal experience at King’s Ice Cream on Colorado Boulevard! From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted with a warm, welcoming vibe that instantly made me feel at home. The space is vibrant, spotless, and clearly designed with care — you can tell that this place isn’t just about selling ice cream, it’s about creating memories.
Now let’s talk about the real star here: THE ICE CREAM. I’ve had my fair share of scoops across the country, but nothing — and I mean nothing — comes close to what King’s is dishing out. The chocolate ice cream is on a whole different level. Rich, velvety, and bursting with real cocoa flavor, it somehow strikes that perfect balance between decadent and refreshing. I could taste the quality in every bite — no shortcuts, just real ingredients and love.
Then I tried the cookie dough, and wow… mind blown. It’s creamy with generous chunks of actual cookie dough that aren’t too sweet or gritty like you find in other places. It’s like they found the secret recipe for nostalgia and froze it. Every bite transported me back to the best parts of childhood — only now, with grown-up flavor sophistication.
But the crown jewel of my visit? The Reese’s Pieces shake. If you love peanut butter and chocolate (and let’s be honest, who doesn’t?), you owe it to yourself to try this masterpiece. It’s thick, indulgent, and packed with just the right amount of crushed Reese’s Pieces to give you that crunch and pop of flavor with every sip. It was so good, I almost didn’t want to finish it — just so I could keep enjoying it forever.
On top of all that, I have to give a massive shout-out to Qon. Qon was AMAZING! Friendly, attentive, knowledgeable, and full of positive energy. He made great recommendations, treated every customer with genuine respect and enthusiasm, and clearly takes pride in what he does. It’s rare to see service like that these days — he made the whole experience even better and is a true asset to the King’s team.
If you’re in Denver — whether you live here or you’re just passing through — do yourself a favor and stop by King’s Ice Cream on Colorado Boulevard. This place isn’t just another ice cream shop. It’s a community gem. I’ll definitely be back (probably way too often), and I’m already telling everyone I know to check it out.
Five stars, no question. If I could give...
Read moreGirlfriend and I were craving some fancy shakes..did a quick Google search and 35 minutes away was MyKings, well we didn't have anything else to do on a Sunday afternoon...and my girlfriend pointed out that they had a golden Oreo (!!!) shake. We hopped in the car and from the moment that we walked in all three of the ladies working greeted us very warmly. They asked if we had been in there before and explained all of the consistent flavors that they had (6 on the left) as well as rotating flavors (6 on the right) they then told us that the full menu was behind us and to please ask any questions if we had any and they're happy to give out samples. They asked what kind of flavors we like and what we're craving. I came here for the golden Oreo shake, so my girlfriend thought for a moment and decided on the Wash Park Hot Chocolate Shake. While we were checking out the decor, our shakes were served up. One of the lovely ladies asked if we liked cereal, my girlfriend said that yes, her favorites were fruit loops and fruity pebbles. The blue moon ice cream was those two exact flavor and she gave my girlfriend a sample which she loved. The shakes were very tasty (I finished mine within less than 10 minutes.) Quality of ice cream and those wonderful ladies that were even sweeter than the ice cream definitely deserve the 5 stars, despite being Colorado natives, we usually avoid Denver....might need to make the drive more often now that this shop is here! (The music in the store was...
Read moreI had the amazing good fortune to be a fly on the wall today at my King’s ice cream shop, a small hole in the wall ice cream store roughly near 29th on Colorado Boulevard. The occasion was a visit from the moderate to intensive Needs autism class from a nearby school. The owner and proprietor of this woman owned business put on a special ice cream party for five students and their teachers. The students loved putting on gloves and chefs aprons to make ice cream in plastic bags with salt and ice the old-fashioned way, when they were done, they got to eat Colorado made premium ice cream with their choice from several dozen toppings. They each had their own tray with the toppings they chose and could decorate their ice cream in a dish in the middle however they wished. After ice cream bingo. They were all awarded certificates for being professional ice cream makers. They all left with big smiles. LaDay and her crew do all sorts of events from mobile, tents to school visits, hotel banquets. regularly She’s serving local school students and families in this historic shop. So next time you’re down near city park and all that it has to offer, add my Kings ice cream to your list of must visit. THANK YOU!! Leday...
