This was my first time trying Pomodoro Pizza Pasta. It was a Sunday afternoon around 4:30. I came in to take advantage of their happy hour deals. I ordered the mussels with marinara sauce, but was mistakenly served the white sauce. I decided to eat the mussels as is. They were plentiful and decent size. I asked for bread to dip in the sauce. They only have garlic knots, which were doughy and undercooked- the best part about them was the garlic and the fact that they were free. The white mussel sauce came with slices of garlic and sliced peppers (sweet and hot). The sauce was nothing special. The happy hour price was $10.99. Regular price $18.99 The happy hour menu is not great and no wine options on happy hour was a bummer. Only beer and margaritas (neither of which I tried) Next I ordered a side garden salad- a bit pricey at $9.49- still a good portion size- the usual: a spring mix of lettuce, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, red onions and carrot slices. The salad was fresh. I wanted oil and vinegar, but they had no red wine vinegar so I settled with just olive oil. For an entree I ordered the Rigatoni Bolognese. ($21.49) This was a plate of disappointment. The pasta was inconsistently cooked as some rigs were under cooked, some al dente and others slightly overcooked. The sauce was nothing special and there was little bolognese in the bolognese (if you know what I mean) It was topped with parsley and parmesan cheese (since the cheese was already on top I had no choice and I assumed it was not fresh) it looked and tasted like kraft. I had a glass of the Ruffino Chianti for $12. It was good and probably would have paired well with a quality red sauce (which mine was not) Overall, If you are looking for Italian food with flavor this is not the place. In the end it was $60 I won't get back- which means i...
Read moreWe went here today to celebrate my birthday. We originally tried to go to the other location in Aurora but it was closed. The food was extremely disappointing. Chicken Francese is normally lightly battered, and the menu here stated it would be. This chicken didnât come out battered and the texture was horrible. I ordered the chicken Francese at the other location and it was delicious. I left a review with a photo (click my profile or visit the other restaurant if youâre curious at the difference) but you can clearly see by the photos it was made very differently. My grandma was disappointed they didnât recognize my birthday as a business practice but I understand that is not a normalized thing. I personally will never come back to this location, and I donât recommend coming for any type of celebration. Our server did not ask us how the food was nor was he very attentive given how slow it was. The other location I have only had good...
Read moreWe had been hearing about this place and decided to try the new location. Walked in on a Saturday night and weâre able to get a table for 3 right away. The service was kind of cold from the jump. Soda tasted odd and we had to get a substitute. But then our entrees came out and the same persons plate was wrong. Ordered Marsala and got piccata. Didnât want to wait for a refire. Piccata was okay but didnât seem to have the light crust you expect. The house made lasagna was disappointing as itâs maybe 2-4 layers of noodles. Tasted alright but odd presentation. Chicken parm was good and probably the best looking plate. You do get a plate of garlic knots with entrees so that was nice. We had to ask for more/refilled drinks each time though as they werenât offered. We may try...
