I usually do not leave reviews, but our experience was so odd. Mind you, we had a not so great experience literally 4 years ago (without even ordering food) and never went back until now.
I called to double check what options were vegan friendly (around 7.20pm). I was given that information and then headed to the location. Arrived around 7.35ish and was told they weren't taking any more orders since they close at 8. I let them know I just called and it would have been helpful for whoever answered the phone when I first called to relay this information, but we were fine with that. The girl taking our order was nice enough to ask her co-workers if they would take an order and they did so. Awesome, love the help! During the order process, my husband asked about some items by different names and the girl went out of her way to overly correct him. It was almost like she didn't know certain foods can have different names/descriptions.
Then I saw how they were preparing some of the food. Sauce?..straight from a can. Fries - watched them use their bare hands to handle frozen fries from a freezer chest. I don't know if that's how all restaurants do this, but seeing it is...
My husband and I were with our toddler, so we took turns gong outside and walking with him while we waited. I put in the order, but my husband was inside when the order was ready. It was very blatantly clear we were together. The girl that took our order literally watched me order WITH my husband. The order is ready, and the girl proceeds to ask for me (wrong name mind you) and my husband tried to correct her so he could take the order. She straight up asked "where did that lady go?" Ignoring my husband. I walk in and she hands me the order. I'm not sure how far common sense goes here, but if someone in the same party tells you they can take the order: give them the order. Not sure if she was confused because we're an interracial couple, but seriously...
Final: Fries were boring, no seasoning, garlic rolls - same. Vegan pizza - loaded with daiya cheese and no flavor to the point that it was gross. This is vegan pizza made by people that don't know how to use these ingredients. You never overload on daiya cheese.
Overall, overpriced for combining out of the can ingredients. Maybe train some of the kids there on customer...
Read moreExtremely disappointed with business practices. NO EXAGGERATION-- The past 12 TIMES I have called to place an order during normal business hours, no matter the time of day I either never get through to even place an order, and the phone will ring forever, OR if I do finally get through to someone, I haven't ended up placing an order because somehow EVERY SINGLE TIME they are out of every vegetarian meat option. I'm talking EVERYTHING, from meatballs to veggie pepperoni.
I have worked as a manager in the food service industry and can say that running out of stock so quickly everyday should be documented and resolved quickly, as it can affect business operation and sales directly.
I hope one day this place actually has food to serve again, but until then I will keep going to other places for my business as I have the past 12 times I have been turned away.
UPDATE* After recieving a not so sincere apology from the owner, I tries once more to order a vegetarian Pepperoni Pizza (you'd think it's pretty normal stock right) at 6pm on a Wednesday night, and was told once again that they were out of my vegetarian pepperoni option.
After reading earlier 1 star comments about them simply being vegetarian, I can't even understand how they can offer meatless options that I thus far have managed to try once in the past 4 years of being here.
I will never return and will make sure that no one I know wastes their time on Brooklyn...
Read moreWORST EXPERIENCE EVER AT A RESTAURANT!!! They were completely racist towards us being plain white people and not Jewish. I have never dealt with something like this before. We arrived before two individual family's. My child tried interacting with their children smiling and waving. They all snubbed my son including adults. They continued to point and whisper about us and laugh. I was very confused by this situation. These people were very much friends/family with the restaurant staff. They ordered 15 mins after we did. We still got our food after them burnt and late, with our cranky hungry child (while dirty looks were given by the other 2 familys towards us and our child). They said sorry your pizza was late... Then asked if we needed anything else??? Yes plates and silverware would be great.. we ended up walking out as we felt extremely uncomfortable and our 2 year old had, had enough waiting and couldn't eat a burnt pizza. They seen we had a 2 year old and instead still served the other people and their grown kids first, after they ordered 15 mins after us being there. It was because the customers and staff were Jewish and we weren't. How do you disrespect a family with a 2 year old like that and continue to do it with your customers?! Great role modeling for the next generations...NOT. Would never...
