Rico Pollo #6 — Restaurant in Denver

Within 6 months this spot went from a 4 to a zero. Today, we spent $35. for 4 tasteless meals. To start off the young girl at the register took order incorrectly. Once meals arriveed the Flaunts were dry, dark chicken had no seasoning & over cooked, beans tasted like they came out of a can & were watered down, very disgusting. Green onions were too chewy. My 11 y.o granddaughter ordered a horchata which was mostly water and tons of sugar. When she asked to exchange the drink the 2 females spoke in Spanish as if they didn't understand. I am a American Mexican who speaks both English and Spanish. At 1st I spoke English to the 2 ladies, i allowing them speak in Spanish to each other, I just listened. Keep in mind horchata cost $3.00, my granddaughter wanted to replace it with a bottled soda which was $2.50. They told her they couldn't do that, and she could have a fountain drink which was also 2.50. Which didn't make sense. One of the females begun to question my granddaughter about the drink. HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND!! Food was terrible! Food had no taste and it was burnt! Service was terrible! Restaurant appearance was terrible!! We asked for a refund because our food was soggy and tasteless the cashier was supper rude and one of the cooks came out and started yelling at us && started comparing their restaurant to McDonald’s!!! Saying “McDonald’s won’t give you a refund if you take a bit of the food,” like ma’am how am I supposed to know if my food is good or not with out taking a bite…. First time eating here. I had heard their wings were pretty good so I wanted to give them a try. I ordered 2 dozen wings, to go. I like to order wings with no sauce on them, sauce on side. This allows me to actually taste the chicken and sauce separately, and to determine if the wings are REALLY good or not. The wings were over cooked and the sauce is a generic tasting wing sauce, nothing special about it. I could not enjoy the chicken - only ate 4 pieces - because it was cooked so hard and a little on the dry side. The chicken has the potential to be good, which is why I'm giving 3 stars.
