I am so disappointed in my experience this evening. The bartender, Melissa, was beyond rude and has a terrible attitude. It was a long wait because there was only 1 server for the whole restaurant and two bartenders. I sat down first. She looks at me, huffs and puffs then looks away. Then people sit down after me and she greets them with a smile and gives them a menu. I get a menu after. The other bartender serves me and puts in my order. Melissa brings out my food order, and it was incorrect. She looks at my server then looks at me. She then walks in a circle for a moment holding the food and gives my food to the people next to me. I am shocked. Right or wrong, it was my order. Due to the inconvenience, if it was going to be gifted to anyone, it should have been me. A few minutes later, my bartender asks Melissa if she put my correct order in and she says no. All the while, a gentlemen has been waiting 10+ minutes to be seated. He finally decides to sit at the bar. In an abrasive and aggressive manner, Melissa asks him to move to another spot so another couple can sit. He explains that he’s already been waiting 10 min and she persists he moves. Then she goes to the other bartender and begins to speak negatively about the gentlemen in front of myself and the other patrons. My food comes shortly after. I am so uncomfortable and in such disbelief, I ask to speak to a manager. I am told there is no manager available and to call the number on the reciept. I immediately ask for a box & my server asks if I’m leaving already? I say yes. Melissa comes to inquire why. I ask why she gave my food away, didn’t put my order in and I express that she had been rude my entire experience. She shifts blame to the fact that they’re busy & says my food was a double order which is why she gave it away. I explain that even if it’s a double order that wasn’t being dent back/disposed of, I should have received it as I was the one that was inconvenienced. She says “I’m sorry you feel that way” and walks away. She proceeds to check on every single patron around the bar with a cheery attitude and skips me. Neither bartender says anything else to me. I pay for my ticket, pack my order and leave.
I am still in disbelief that I was treated so poorly, and Melissa was behaving in...
Read moreShort connection between flights - I asked about approximate wait time before ordering because my flight was going to be boarding my connecting flight in 20 minutes. was told 8-9 min, so I ordered. Waited and waited right near the pick-up counter. Numbers before mine were called, and then started calling numbers after mine. Thought maybe it was taking longer because I ordered chicken. Finally asked after the numbers called were 10 higher than mine and the guy tried saying the someone else must have taken my order. He never called the number; I was standing near the counter and intently listening, My number was NEVER called Blaming another customer for taking the order, was either a lie, or he only called out one number when he placed it on the counter and the customer with that number took both. Either way - he should have acknowledged responsibility for it, and not blamed it on someone else. Told me they get the order out in 2 minutes and then disappeared. . 5 min later, still no food. Asked again and was told ‘2 min’. At this point, I asked if it was REALLY 2 min, and you could tell by the expression on the cooks face that it was not, and my plane was now boarding and I could no longer wait. The very nice cashier tried to offer me a burger (don’t eat beef) or a pastry. Offered a refund and he processed that quickly, but am now without food for my flight. Complete lack of accountability, with the exception of the cashier that jumped to try to provide some sort...
Read moreSeeking a sports bar with live playoff baseball, my husband and I stopped at Smashburger. It was crowded. Since we wanted bar seats, I approached a patron who was sitting between 2 bar stools and asked him to move. He was friendly and accommodating, just as the 2 bartenders were.
Our server was Melissa. She and her co-worker, Marie, were on their toes, moving very quickly to keep up with the pace. They mixed drinks, took food orders, and came out from behind the bar to serve food and clean the bar. From behind the bar, Melissa and Marie also directed people standing in line to be seated. (It was not quite the pace as pictured in the movie, “Cocktail,” but Marie and Melissa would be strongly considered for parts!). They were friendly, upbeat and engaged with clientele.
I think it was my first time eating at Smashburger. Remember, I was there to watch a ballgame; I don’t care for hamburgers, so I was surprised and pleased to discover that I could substitute either grilled or crispy chicken for a burger. I chose the Bacon/Avocado/Ranch with Crispy Chicken. The avocado was actually guacamole which was excellent. The sandwich was absolutely delish. The sweet potato fries were good but could have been warmer. Coke products were offered as fountain drinks so tastier than cans or bottles. The gentleman seated next to me was super happy with his tequila and lime.
Since I lived in Denver, and return annually to visit, I will certainly go to Smashburger in Concourse C...
