I am writing to express my disappointment with the service I received at the Admiral Club Lounge at Denver International Airport. My husband and I run a business and frequently use American Airlines and other OneWorld partners for both business and personal travel. We also utilize our Citi Advantage card for business expenses.
On this particular occasion, I arrived at the lounge with two guests and had purchased three day passes, totaling almost $300, instead of using my Citi Advantage card. Upon arriving at the desk, I politely informed the attendant that we had reservations. The attendant immediately responded in a rude tone, stating that I was obviously in the wrong place because they do not take reservations. I corrected myself and said we had day passes. She then asked, in an annoyed tone, if all three of us had them, and said, “Fine, I guess I will scan each one individually.”
When she scanned the first pass and realized I was not on a OneWorld partner flight, she simply said, “Nope, and this won’t work.” I was confused and asked for more information, explaining that I have used my Citi card to access the lounges many times. The only reason I couldn’t fly American Airlines that day was that there were no flights to my destination. I looked at one of my guests and said, “Oh no, I thought I literally read all the rules and exceptions,” to which the attendant rudely responded that there was no way I read them because the word “literally” would never be used.
Stunned by her condescending response, I asked how I could be refunded, and she curtly replied that it wasn’t “her deal.” My guests and other customers checking in made comments about how rude and unprofessional she was acting.
This experience has left me deeply dissatisfied and questioning whether I should continue using American Airlines for both business and...
Read moreI had an incredibly disappointing experience at the Denver Ambassador Lounge on the evening of March 18, 2024. Let’s start with the good. The interior is very modern and the bathrooms are spacious and clean. That’s about where it ends. If you’ve never been to an airport lounge before, you may find this place enjoyable but it pales in comparison to any Alaska or British airways lounge I have been to. My flight had been delayed and I spent 8 hours in the lounge. During this time, no staff member came to collect any of my old plates or glasses. To be fair, there wasn’t many because the food at this place is about non existent. When I arrived, there were no warm food options. Later they put out some incredibly disappointing tacos and 2 equally disappointing soup options. All of this made my experience mediocre, but the nail in the coffin was the absolutely horrendous staff. The gentleman who checked us in told us that we were not permitted until we had to explain to him how the oneworld alliance worked. The staff should be educated on this. Later in the evening, the lounge was quiet with only a few guests, most of which were trying to get some rest considering it was 10/11pm (myself included). However, this was impossible because of the obnoxiously loud gossiping coming from the two staff members at the reception desk. They spoke poorly of their coworkers, management, and guests as well as played loud videos on their phone. The management complaints were nonstop. I felt mortified to be a guest here, wondering what would be spoken about me and others when we left. It was so loud I was unable to get any rest after 24 hours of traveling. Grateful to say I will never...
