UPDATE: This restaurant has no integrity, and their staff is lacking morals. Upon reconciling my credit card statement, I found that I was overcharged exactly $10.00. I went to retrieve my receipts to validate if this was perhaps an error on my part. It was, in fact, not. Clearly, the server Savannah felt it necessary to tip herself an extra amount! I immediately attempted to remedy this issue by contacting the restaurant directly to no avail. The hostess hung up on me twice. When I finally got someone on the phone, Doug said a manager would call me back. This happened twice. No phone call. They are shmucks. Be warned. By the way, my credit card company refunded me the $10, as I disputed the charge and had all my records. Regardless, it’s not the money- it’s the principal!

After enjoying a sister’s weekend at a nearby hotel, we opted for SOL as our Saturday night dinner location. We first found it searching nearby restaurants on our phones, and after asking another server at our hotel for some recommendations, we settled on this joint for Mexican food.
Upon entering, the hostesses told us there would be a 45 minute wait. We were completely okay with the wait and decided to sit up at the bar for some pre-dinner drinks.
Doug, our bartender, was lovely! He made fantastic spicy margaritas and was just very likable. Fun conversation, cool experience. The homemade tortilla chips were delicious, the bean dip fantastic and the salsa decent.
After not even 10 minutes of sitting at the bar, the hostess came over to seat us. A bit annoying because we had just received our drinks. Felt stressful like we did not have an option. I told them we would wait a bit for a booth… 3 minutes later it was ready. Ugh. So much for 45 minutes at all…
We were seated with our server, Savannah. We loved her!! She was so cute and sweet and helpful!! In fact, the two nearby servers in our area also popped in and chatted with us- they were just all so cool!! Loved the employees across the board…
The GM on the other hand, not so friendly looking… and scolding the other servers for chatting with us. Lighten up, lady! I’ve worked in restaurants in most positions- I get it. But sheesh… I did not get her vibes.
Music was a bit loud so we sorta had to scream to hear one another. Food was good. We ordered two different taco dishes, chicken quesadillas, and a steak burrito....

Went for a birthday (as stated in the open table reservation, an option offered on the app), they forget the birthday persons food, brought it out by the time we were done eating. The server never checked on us once (expect for food/drinks, once for each) especially once we got our food, unless he was running quickly past and asked if we wanted another drink. He was more than happy to try to offer us another $20 drink while running past our table….easy money with no effort. The young guy server didn’t really acknowledge any of his mistake, also ignored the birthday person at the table when trying to first order drinks. He ran off, we tried to get his attention a few times but couldn’t. I had to personally cut the lettuce for my Cesar salad so by the time I got to my 15$ taco, the tortilla had broken in half and I couldn’t eat the taco normally. How are you going to make someone work for their meal when the prices are so high? Also he just assumed the salad was for my meal and brought it all out at the same time as the other food which is why my taco fell apart. You wasted my money. Also it only had like two tablespoons of mushrooms, nothing else obvious, it looked like a mushroom only taco, I had to look for the corn and pablano… for a $15 taco?!? Queso was small and overcooked so most of it stuck to the bottom, even when scraping with a fork. Not to mention, our waiter asked if we wanted queso…we said sure…and it came out with meat in it and extra stuff. I don’t eat meat. We were not told anything was different about it and none of us had our menues open, we had literally just sat down so how were we to know? Do you know what it’s like to make a recommendation and feel so embarrassed after it? Not how a restaurant should be, and we are understanding people, it’s Friday, you are busy and things won’t be perfect. But this is neglectful at every step, and I’m seeing a pattern in...
Read moreLast night we went out for a night out in cherry creek and wanted to try Sol as we’ve always passed by it, but never tried it. The place was packed and looked very inviting inside. The hostesses were very friendly and accommodating, we were seated right away without a reservation. Once seated we were served salsa, black bean dip and chips. The salsa was delicious and fresh, I could taste the grilled peppers they used to make it, the chips however were very disappointing. They don’t use regular freshly made flour tortilla chips, they instead fry whole corn tortillas and add some flavoring to them. The chips were very bland and I was craving just regular freshly fried flour tortilla chips instead. The drinks were very delicious as we tried a variety of margaritas and you can tell the bartenders know how to make a mean margarita! We ordered some apps and some fajitas. The fajitas don’t come out the way most do with it sizzling on a hot plate, however the steak fajitas were very tasty and fresh. We also tried the spicy slaw with them, it wasn’t at all spicy, but they slaw itself was very refreshing and tasted great. We wanted to try their tres leches, but they were already out of it before 9pm, bummer! Lastly, our server which I didn’t catch her name unfortunately, she was so pleasant and friendly, she rocked! Overall, I’d say this place is great for their drinks, good service and nice atmosphere and decent food. The food is fresh, some of it just lacked taste and they need to add regular flour tortilla chips as an option since the corn tortilla chips are very bland and make it hard to enjoy the dips with. Nice, fun...
