Majorly bummed. I was very excited to come to this place as it had come recommended to me by multiple friends. On Sunday Jan 12 I texted the number as instructed on the website for a reservation on Friday the 17th for my girlfriend and me (I have attached a photo of the texts between us). When we arrive, I tell the host stand that we had reservations for 2 at 7pm. They tell me that they don't see the reservation and asked if I could find the confirmation email. I couldn't find the confirmation email but I did show them the credit card charge for the $31 deposit that I made on Sunday the 12th. The host, who at this point was very confused and didn't know what to do (she was very nice by the way), asked for a manager. I don't quite remember his name, but he had a very heavy accent. He basically told us that he would let us inside, but we had to leave by 8:00pm. Remember that this whole ordeal lasted at least 10 minutes so by the time we would actually be able to sit down we would have only about 40 minutes to order drinks and enjoy our time. We decided that we might as well since we made the trip. The drinks were amazing and the ambiance was very cool. However, I was so bummed that we had to have our time cut short and was so disappointed that I couldn't fully enjoy the experience.
When the time comes around for us to leave, the waiter/bartender came up and told us that we had very little time remaining and dropped off the check. No problem. I pay, we leave. I offer to go pick up the car so my girlfriend didn't have to walk in the snow. As I'm leaving I hear the same manager from earlier snarkily tell my girlfriend that I made the wrong reservations and that the reservations were actually for the 24th of January. It was very frustrating. As you can see from the texts, it seems pretty clear that I wanted reservations for THIS Friday. Thankfully, my deposit money was returned.
Overall a very disappointing and frustrating night. I understand that this place is very busy and guests need to be on a timed schedule, but there has to be some accountability when errors like this arise. The guest shouldn't have to pay the consequences for this...
Read moreI've been a regular at B&GC since the week they opened 7 years ago, and I can confidently say they've only gotten better with time. This last visit was truly exceptional.
Service: Micah and Mario were the absolute stars of the show. They were incredibly attentive, detail-oriented, and true masters of their craft. They went above and beyond to ensure we had an unforgettable experience.
Cocktails: This was probably the best menu I've seen in their 7 years. Their on-menu cocktails were some of the best we've had in any upscale bar, but their expertise truly shone when we ventured off-menu for "bartender's choice" creations.
Bespoke Cocktails: We opted for two bespoke cocktails: a key-lime pie and a sherry black Manhattan. Micah meticulously crafted each drink, asking specific questions to understand our preferences and ensure he was creating something unique and impressive.
Key Lime Pie: Micah used his own lime cordial recipe to create this masterpiece, and even offered us an extra sip to appreciate the intensity of the flavor.
Black Manhattan with Sherry: As we mentioned our upcoming trip to Spain, Micah shared his passion for sherry and how he incorporated it into our Manhattan. He truly elevated the classic cocktail with his knowledge and expertise.
Overall Experience: This was some of the best time I've spent at a bar in years. Micah and Mario's genuine passion for cocktails and their dedication to crafting unique experiences for their guests truly set B&GC apart. Thank you for an unforgettable evening! We can't wait to return and try your next menu creations.
Highly recommended for: Cocktail enthusiasts, anyone looking for an exceptional bar experience, and those who appreciate...
Read moreBEWARE!! Thought this would be my go to place but sadly won’t be returning. My parents were in town visiting so I took them here for some drinks. Be sure to double check what you’re getting charged for when they bring you your check. Greg charged us for Don Julio 1942 when my dad ordered & was served Don Julio 70. When we pointed it out to him, he got extremely defensive & argued that he was doing us a favor by charging us for a cheaper tequila because they didn’t have Don Julio 70 on their system to charge for. A bottle of Don Julio 70 sells for around $60 and Don Julio 1942 is around $130, so he indeed was in the wrong & was overcharging us. We were charged almost $130 for THREE drinks. I reached out to the assistant manager, Priscilla, and she apologized & offered to send me a Local Jones food and beverage credit on the house. It has been 2 months since this happened and I’m still waiting on the credit. I have emailed her to check on the status but she is now ignoring me. Expected so much more from a place like this.
UPDATE: Priscilla ended up reaching back out when she realized she overlooked my emails. She did everything in her power to make things right. She mailed me the credit to the restaurant but since it was taking 2+ weeks to receive it, she went ahead and made me a reservation on her end with the credit applied to it. Brunch at Local Jones exceeded my expectations. The service, the food, & ambiance were perfect. When it came time to pay for the difference of my bill, the manager, Emily, came to let me know she would be taking care of the entire bill. 10/10 customer service. Thank you Priscilla & Local Jones for leaving a better taste in my mouth after my...
