I’m not one to write reviews, but I woke up this morning and I was still thinking about my experience at the restaurant last night and really need to note a few things. See below.
Service I’m not one that needs top notch service but at a restaurant where you’re paying $100 a person and it is advertised as a fancy seafood, and meat restaurant in Cherry Creek the service was subpar at the best. It took me twice asking for water to get any water after at least eight minutes of sitting there she constantly took forever to come to the table. It took her at least 10 minutes of my boyfriend’s coke being empty to come and refill it. They offer complementary bread, not something I think I need to ask for but after a while I finally did ask the server for it and she was like oh yeah, do you want that? I didn’t realize I had to ask. So overall at a restaurant where you’re paying $100 a person you expect a service to be of that par I have worked in the service industry and I know what good service is and while the waitress was very nice- it was not good and I also understand it’s a Sunday and It was a little bit later, I can give some slack there I can understand. For the type of restaurant they want to present themselves as they need to train their servers better and still pay attention to the basic detail when it is a Sunday and late. It’s not a pub.
Food This is the driving factor of my review. I was really excited to try this place and I made the mistake of not looking at yelp reviews and only Google reviews prior. That’s my fault. I can genuinely say the only decent thing that we ate was the Caesar salad and the complementary bread. We ordered the burger sliders they were raw thankfully my boyfriend will just end up eating everything. I couldn’t finish mine. I left the raw piece on my plate for them to see. That was the first red flag. Then for our entrée, we ordered the tomahawk steak 28 ounces and their triple cooked french fries fries. I was so excited. We ordered the steak medium rare. The server recommended medium anyways it comes out what they think is medium rare it is well done the $135 tomahawk steak was crisp. I should’ve taken pictures me and my boyfriend just wanted to get out of there so bad and it wasn’t even about the money it was about how horrible it was. It didn’t even taste good it didn’t have salt. It wasn’t even worth it for us to send the food back because we didn’t wanna be there any longer and we knew we were never coming back. I mean, I could write a novel on how bad the steak was and this is from someone who has eaten a six dollar steak from Walmart. Therefore it’s not like I’m extremely picky. This was crispy. And the fries don’t get me started on the fries. I was so excited it says triple cooked the pictures online look great oh and the pictures looked great for the tomahawk steak. Worst fries ever half of them weren’t even crispy. The only thing good about that was the chimichurri mayo that came with it. I’m telling you avoid this restaurant. Do not spend the money on it. Go to Ruth’s Chris steakhouse go to Texas roadhouse anywhere but this place.
Atmosphere I knew from the second we walked up to the restaurant that we should’ve walked away and I should have listened to my gut the way that it’s advertised is very nice and again fancy it’s located in Cherry Creek. You get there and walk in the music is blasting like you’re in a club the whole atmosphere feels like a club. The seating is cheap. The inside of the restaurant looks cheap. everything about that restaurant feels cheap. I am not a wealthy person. I just can see these things and have been to a lot of restaurants that claim to be nicer and the atmosphere usually reflects that for this one it reflects an after hours empty karaoke club.
While I know I’m bashing on this restaurant. I do hope they can do better and at least match the prices to the type of quality they are producing. I just really want someone to avoid coming here if they’re expecting a fancy night...

Salt Water Social has just opened its doors, and let me tell you, it's a must-try for anyone who appreciates fresh, innovative seafood served in a seriously stylish setting. My girlfriends and I recently had a girls' night out at Salt Water Social, and it was an experience we won't soon forget. The vibe was upscale with a touch of nautical chic & the stars of the show were the cocktails & food.
Service was on point & server Charlie & Manager Neil ensured we had everything we needed while we dined.
For Share-ables we had the Oysters, Spicy Yellowtail Crispy Rice, Caviar Pizza & Dungeness Crab Cake.
The oysters were plump and briny, with a clean, refreshing finish.
The Spicy Yellowtail Crispy Rice was made with yellowtail, pickled Fresno, & unagi sauce. The crispy rice was a crowd favorite and had the perfect kick of heat from the pickled Fresno peppers. The unagi sauce added a touch of savory sweetness.
The Caviar Pizza was made with lemon cream, choice of caviar, & chives. The creamy lemon base & chew of the pizza dough perfectly balanced the richness of the caviar. The subtle chive fragrance added a layer of complexity to each bite.
The Dungeness Crab Cake was made with roasted corn, fennel, & lemon hollandaise. The perfectly golden exterior gave way to the tender, flaky crab meat within while the roasted corn added a touch of sweetness and pop in texture. The creamy hollandaise tied everything together with a rich, tangy finish.
The Lil Brgs were made with wagyu beef, special sauce, & sesame seed bun.
For the Surf & Turf, we got to choose our steak & seafood. We had the NY Strip 12oz with Truffle Butter & Maine Lobster Thermidor. The steak arrived sizzling, and the first cut revealed a juicy, tender interior. The truffle butter added a touch of earthy decadence to the meat. The lobster thermidor was the highlight here - pure buttery indulgence and we loved the addition of the breadcrumbs.
The Maine Lobster Roll was made with poached lobster salad, lemon zest, butter roll, & served with old bay chips. The poached lobster salad was dressed with a touch of lemon zest, adding a bright, refreshing note. The salad was nestled in a toasted butter roll that had a satisfying crunch.
The Mushroom & Truffle Rigatoni was made with pecorino, braised mushrooms, & shaved black truffle. The al dente rigatoni provided a satisfying bite, while the braised mushrooms offered a soft, meaty counterpoint. The pecorino cheese added a sharp tang, and the shaved black truffle elevated the dish.
The San Francisco Style Cioppino was made with scallops, mussels, clams, Dungeness crab, market fish, herbed tomato seafood soup, & grilled sourdough bread.
We ended the night on a sweet note with some decadent desserts - the Flambé Banana Foster, Chocolate Cake, & Cheesecake Cones. The Flambé Banana Foster was our favorite - the warm bananas bathed in a boozy rum sauce were pure sweet, sticky heaven.
Salt Water Social was more than just a meal; it was an experience. From the stylish ambiance to the innovative and delicious seafood dishes, it's a place that will leave you wanting to come back for more. So, gather your crew and set sail for Salt Water Social – your taste buds will...
Read moreCompletely dropped the ball! .they messed up the steak that I literally said let the chef choos the cut and the cook...when it came out cold and dry I let the waiter know. No biggie. Ill make some steak and Eggs or something with the cut since its good quality...kinda easybto understand, chef let it sit too long. But then came the hard part of the people needing to explain it....The first manager came over and asked me 4 or 5 times what's going on...each time I said positive things knowing me and my lady wanted to have a good night and dont complain or else the waiter will avoid us and the service will change. She really pushed the issue. Then we never got our bread, not even in the to go box, the waiter was cold and provided no customer service...it really sucked bad after answering her questions. The next wave was the other manager and the chef to "say hi" so we did and I let them know that we are in a conversation so we can talk more in 10-15min. The lady manager rolled her eyes and the chef giggled a bit and never came back...both very disrespectful because we didnt drop everything to talk to them and obviously dis not talk to the person who booked us for the table. Our celebration and our reason for the nice night out was because we havent seen eachother in over a month...I explained in detail that we do not want to be disturbed or talk to anybody aside from our waiter so we can "sit there and make cow eyes at eachother while we catch up". The girl taking our reservation seemed confused and discombobulated saying shes new and cant figure out the seating....jees guys. I found out the hostess works from home and is a service that the resteraunt utilizes to book tables so they dont have to deal with the inconvenience of people calling them. Wow!!! We then got home after paying for a legit dinner at a legit price...around $100 per person and realized they didn't pack all our food to go home with us as we requested. This place is awful! Best thing was the espresso and everything else was pretentious and overpriced... when the manager told us your welcome when we left I knew she was clueless and the whole place needs to understand how many options there are to get a high end dining experience. I will say the atmosphere is beautiful and the music turns from classy to nightclub style at 8pm...wear sweats and ball hats and sneakers if you want...no dress code at all. There are waaaay better places to spend your money than this spot.
Alison resched out and i found out they were not informed of our request for no disruptions. She did everything in her power to make it right. Doesn't change that we were not given our food to go home with and we lost the time for me and my wife to connect. Because of her effort I changed from 1 star to 3 even with our waiter, Kenny, blatantly lying to us about the food he packed to go. Fact is i woukd not have written the review to begin with if...
